Northern Colorado weather and haircuts

Val, i cannot believe you are only 40 min. southwest of me and the differences in temps!

hey we only had 2=4 inches of snow...........but it is the BITTER BITTER COLD that is the news here! Thank God I was here this year, no more burst pipes!
Schools were closed for yesterday and today for cold weather........... WC -40 last night and they just said again tonight.
The house feels allmost like a sweat lodge at 68 degrees which is what we keep it at year round.

I'm ready to shoot a certain boy dog in this house. Or, rather OUTSIDE of this house. Caly and Delilah will come in when hearing the term "cookie, Andele arriba entrada casa pronto!!"...........if that doesn't work, I tell them they can go into the basement and THAT usually makes them all come running. What the heck is it about the basement? That is like the golden ticket to Willy Wonka land?! HOWEVER if Checker's is going to live thru this it will be a miracle. I am ready to kill him. He sits at the bottom of the stairs and 'stares' at me. When i tell him the cookie he goes the opposite direction and lays down on the concrete and stays. I guess his family jewels have not figured that out yet, neither has his upper brain.
If i have to put on my boots, coat, gloves, hat, muffler etc and go out and chase that damned dog around the yard to get him in again, he might just be mounted on a plaque on my wall!

and yet, they are now saying another storm tomorrow afternoon 2-3 inches, and YET ANOTHER storm coming in Sat/Sun and MON with another Arctic Air mass on its way next Mon/Tue. with more -40 wcfactors.

On another note. It is always so sad for me to make a 'final' decision and do the actual 'cut down'....... but i am having to make some decisions on making my life easier for the next 3-4 months here. So, i finally made the decision and Caly had her ''trim" down today. Maybe someday we will finish the Gr. Championship title but it really isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things here. We've already got more titles than ever........

So, our sweet little nibble imp today went from this:

She wasn't embarrassed, but she sure was pissed off! She's such a pretty little girl......... I had forgotten what she looked like as a little bitty puppy..............without all that hair!

Caly looks really cute! :D

We are expecting another storm by this weekend...most likely part of the one passing through CO.

I'm just looking short term and happy tonight is our last really cold night for a week or so
She's lovely both ways! :hearts: I hate taking off their coat but am always happy I did once they're short. And it does make life easier. :D

Bumble does the thing sometimes when it's time to come in... he'll either stand or lie there looking at me and Jim when we call him. It's funny because two things work for me that I don't think Jim has quite figured out yet about this particular boy. 8) If Bumble's standing, I bend over at the waist and point down to the ground and say, "RIGHT HERE" and he comes right along. It usually works with Kobuck too. But if Bumble's lying down, I have to say "stand" and then the same thing. But I have to say stand first or he won't move. He's a dufus!
The puppy cut looks soooooo good!!! What a big difference but I agree... both are very nice!
Yeah but i see how F A T she is! She has been scarfing Dee's dinner I think........... hell maybe even Checkers too.
OMG she is on one heck of a diet!
Caly knew it was going to be cold and put on a blubber layer. Gosh is she cute.

Glacier has her own trick, but it might be a little dementia mixed in. She knocks at the front door (and gouges the wood threshold, grrrr) and when we open the door it is 50:50 if she'll turn and walk away. If I grab her, she whimpers (Pyrs don't whimper). I don't mind if it is 40 out, but these last few days, with snow blowing in the door, her game was unwelcome.

MO is enjoying the cold......if only her arthritic paw didn't complain so quickly. Her full coat makes her look like a musk ox outside. I hope she smells better than that! Yesterday when we had no water, I used rosewater and glycerin while brushing her out. Hopefully the glycerin helps prevent static hair days.

Today here all is working: gas, electricity, water..... :yay: Friend in Taos has no gas and electricty is being rotated around the town, hour on, several hours off. She heats by wood, but has a blower on the stoves. No use.

She is a cutie! Love that face!

Oh Susan I love it........................lol

BLUBBER LAYER!!!!! She definately has it. I am having to watch her every SECOND as she will go move Dee away and before i know it she scarf's down Dee's food. Dee is in the no i don't want to eat stage..............
Didn't you breed one of the girls?

Is Dee developing tender tummy? Too much acid production where Pepcid AC (the generic) would help.

Or is Dee like Paige was......always watching her weight and keeping herself slender?
not sure. AGHH vet office lost ALL of the blood work yesterday.
So i had to have someome else run her back up today. I'm not having a great day/time right now. I think this is going to be a very long 7 more weeks.
Woman i had hired to come help, just isn't working out. Told me tonight she has a job interview for tomorrow.........heck she doesn't even do the things she shoudl be doing HERE>

Today she threw away all of my medicine! I had to ask her 4 tims to please go GET it out of the TRASH!!!!!
You sure she threw it in the trash and not into her purse?

This is prior to back surgery or have you had it?
okay i'll try this again. wrote a long response and it's gone.

No I am not sure she hadn't 'tried to walk' with my meds, but I asked her to bring them back UP to me and low and behold there they were. Needless to say she isn't working here anymore. The times i really neeced her she didnt show up. so i'm back to breaking in someone new tomorrow.

Yep had the surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Normally the thought of any surgery has never bothered me. i don't know if its that i'd had so much in the past, or from having worked L&D or Surgery for so long...but the thought of someone cutting in your spine and moving around nerves scared me. This was even wierder as incision goes from belly button to left hipbone, yep in the front. Especially since Norm couldn't be here. Time will tell however this was suposedly the #1 Neurosurgeon that does replacements inthis region.

I don't know if i 'over' did yesterday, or what but today is first day i just havent felt good. I've had sciatic pain again for first time down left side. Normally would take a tub........but i'm not allowed to sit in a tub for 6 more weeks. I could stand in a shower but i have never been a 'shower' type person. i'll be in and out with hair shampooed in less than 2 minutes, lol. SOOO I'm back to the morphine tonight. i've slept most of the day.

No babies here...........So i guess this means as soon as i am 'released from Surgeons care" i can go sit on the beach somewhere I think it's time to go back to Belize actually........ House is very quiet w/out my boy too. Hard getting used to. Caly is really missing him.

We did have some very wonderful news however, Very sad as it meant the loss of a wonderful beautiful dog.... but news came down from the University doing the CA research that Quigley whome so many people were so quick to condem has for a fact been declared NOT a carrier or affected OES of CA. He was such a beautiful dog as was his father Higgins whom I think was THE epitome of any oes. MY OPINION you don't have to agree with it or make a discussion about it.
Paul wants your doc! After 7 month from hip replacement he's still suffering. Finally got the hydrocodone reinstated. They checked him for AS (Ankylosing Spondylitis)...the RA disease. He's too old but haven't ruled out some other stuff. More Xrays...he'll be glowing soon.

Friend had your surgery except on his neck.....he's not doing well, still not home. So the fact you are there is WONDERFUL!

A recoup on the beach would be nice.....especially with spring wind season coming up. You could probably talk the whole northern contingent of OES.org into joinging you! Tuff winter for all.

Yeah, your "nurse" had $$ signs in her eyes with your meds. Count them daily and write it down.
