Annual physical

Mady has her first non-puppy check up this Saturday. Now that she is a grand lass of 14.5 months, is there anything special that we should be asking about? She is in great shape, very healthy, it is just a routine annual exam but I wondered if I should be asking anything in particular of the vet-who, by the way, David has a crush on, so it will be amusing to watch him spend hours grooming Mady to impress the lovely vet!! I should tell him that the vet is impressed by a man who can cook and clean floors too!

I say that sounds like a good motivator :clappurple: :clappurple:

At that age, and if you don't have any concerns you need checking out...my main priority would be a good exam. Physical exam, and any pertinent labwork that can serve as a baseline to compare later on if she were to get sick or anything like that. It's valuable to establish a norm for her, so later if things change, you will know it's a deviation and can be right on top of things.
The check up went perfectly. The day started with David shaving. SHAVING!! On a SATURDAY! He put on a dress shirt, groomed Mady like she was going to Westminster, and off we went. Mady loves the vet as much as David does, so she was a good girl the entire appointment, with the exception of going on the scale. Takes after her Mum, I guess....

Men

Glad her exam went well!
:clappurple:
On the other hand I can't get Wayne to dress up for love or money, so maybe you're on to something there.
:D

Not sure if dangling a pretty vet in front of him is the motivator I want. This is a man who will go to work in shirts with holes in them. And don't get me started on the state of his socks!

Ah Wayne and David are sartorial brothers in arms. Most of Wayne's clothes have holes in them including the work ones and he wears newish stuff to paint and that's it, they're work clothes, which he then wears when we go out.

I bought him a new Tshirt the other day and he put it on and 5 minutes later put a greasy block of cheese against his chest to get it out of the plastic pack. I can't get the grease stain out.

He didn't shave for work this morning and sometimes will not bother for 3 days. His beard is going grey it's a charming look.
Glad the exam went well!!! And that David had a fun time too!!!!

((Dino has a shirt , well, he says it's a shirt..with the biggest hole under the arm. I tried throwing it away once and he was wearing it the next day!!!  So, one morning..very very early..I snuck downstairs...and RIPPED it the rest of the way!!!!   ...he actually had the nerve to accuse ME of doing it, but I blamed it on HEART :hearts: :hearts:   ))
thanks for making my mornin ladies. this is probably not fixable. lol
when i stop laughing at this brothers in arms pact, i would like to offer at least one or two ideas for you that may or may not rectify part of the problem, but only partially.

OMG, add Todd to the club. :twitch:

I buy him new, and he immediately wears it for some dirty or greasy job and it looks as bad as all the rest. He has no concept of saving some clothes for good, other to be the "grubby" ones.

The beard too - he looks so grizzly now with the gray. I think he shaves (every few days) just so he won't scare the grandkids!

I do sensor the laundry, so I pitch the stuff with bad holes (no holey socks here - both of us hate that).

But I have a great sweatshirt story!
Years ago, back when we were dating, his younger and only sister (Nona) had this favorite sweatshirt. She was in HS still, and it was one of her favorite cheerleading sweatshirts. It was getting ratty - had holes in the cuffs, etc.
Todd and her always argued about it...so one day while she had it on, he grabbed the sleeve and RIPPED it right off her (had a tshirt under) and then ripped it in peices. She was screaming and shrieking at him....and I bet she STILL remembers it to this day. What a mean brother!
Did someone say pretty vet? :sidestep:
We're in the Todd, Wayne, David league here too. He does try to wear the grubby stuff for working but it doesn't always pan out. Have the beard too, told him years ago if he wasn't going to shave everyday he might as well grow one. That he keeps sort of trimmed but he's getting too old to change I guess.
