bitch fight

Haven't seen one of these since I dog sat for friends over a decade ago but while I was on the phone tonight two bitches went to town and I had to reach in and drag one off the other.

Multiple bitches in season so maybe that somehow contributed, though the two that fought are both rescue dogs so no hormones to blame it on  I'm dog sitting for a friend and suddenly her dog had Dazz pinned on her back and she was really going to town. Or so it seemed. I told her sharply to get off, nothing. So I reached in, grabbed some hair - don't try this at home - and hauled her off. Sybil had come running up - nothing in the house goes on without her supervision - and I was afraid she was going to feel compelled to break it up if I didn't and it would have gotten ugly.

Not even a full moon. They're both very pushy, status seeking bitches. Maybe they finally got on each others last nerve. Hope they got it out of their system  I feel kind of bad. Friend's rescue dog has stayed with me many times and though she humps my dogs and is not exactly what you'd consider polite - she's an only dog, maybe that's why she has no dog manners - she's never had a problem with anyone before and she's always great around me. Very submissive, usually, to the human. I'm surprised she didn't back off when I roared at her. Most unusual. :?:

Mmmmm, like you mentioned maybe the waft of pheromones due to other bitches in heat upped the ante. :lmt:

Tiggy is like you described, she won't back down so if any dog even has a little snap at her she snaps back  and things can escalate in the blink of an eye. She rules the roost here! Rastus pretends he is still top dog but if Tiggy has her say he backs down - fast.

Must have made it an interesting phone call for whoever was on the other end of the phone.
Main reason Carmella left here. She decided she HATED all other bitches. Didn't matter if they were in season or not.

I remember Chris Boyer telling me that she had one that over night just decided she could not stand this other bitch. She placed one of them in a home. Was wonderful all the other time, Both were being shown and could not even stand to see or come across each other across the field at a dog show.

There is just something about something...............
