OES=Overly Excited (about our) Second (Sheepie)

Thanks to all you 2 Sheepie owners who helped me convince my hubby that our second dog should be a second OES!!
We are so very excited that we are on the TOP of the waiting list for our "baby girl". :yay: We just found out today that the litter is due the 3rd week of March! Let the "name wars" begin (between hubby, my 14 yr old daughter and myself).

P.S. I adore the name Bella but my family wants more female name suggestions. Any out there?

Mommy to be,
Jackie

Oh how fun how fun!!!! I am very excited for you. In terms of names, go to your local dog park and get a sense of names there. There are 4-5 dogs names Zeus at our park, for example, so I wouldn't be calling my dog Zeus (even though it is a cute name). Also, practice calling the name out loud. Now say it in a tone that will get the dog's attention (as in, they are about to eat your favourite shoes or that $50 bill you left lying around). Does the name come out crisp and clean? Now say the name as if they have just done the cutest and most adorable thing ever (which will happen many times a day). Do you still like the name after you have said it over and over?

Let us know what you decide and, of course, pictures pictures pictures when you get your puppy. Oh, and I think that Bella is a lovely name!
Congrats on your new puppy to be!

Around here, Bella is extremely popular...I have at least one Bella in each one of my classes. So while I do like it, I wouldn't choose it.
Congrads! we made the jump to have a second sheepie a few years ago. while the beginning was a bit tough, now its the best thing I ever did. She is now two and a half and her and her brother who is four just adore each other!

Our's is a Bella. I loved the name too. But as Kristine says it is very common now. So how about Stella! I also like....Marla, Molly, Lucy...I have alot of favorite female names!
Bella is a great name if you are a twilight fan. otherwise i wouldnt name her that, you will get alot of twilight references. (being from that area i can tell you it gets old, really, really, really old :headbang: :headbang: )

Ive always like the girls names Saya (pronounced: Sigh-a), Talya, and Sophie
google names for girl dogs, its great fun...... :yay:
I like the name Riesling for a little girl and would call her Reese-
Bella is WAYYYY over used anymore. Daughter wanted it so we used it as middle name. Ryleigh Bella. :D

Just find a name that has meaning to your family. A favorite vacation spot perhaps.. Mystic Falls, Sierra, Ireland... sometimes places make the most beautiful and unique names. Best of luck. :clappurple:
I have a Bella but she came with the name Isabella or Izzy for short. She didn't look like an Izzy to me and I didn't really like the name. Since she had that name for two years I didn't think I should change it to much so I went with Bella. She is the only one that I have come across at our training center. Would I have thought of "Bella" for a name probably not but I still like it and it seems to fit her.
Yes we have been tossing around names here. Our first big Boy is Oliver and I always wanted a Stellla!! But no takers. Lucy is a favorite of mine too. But again no one likes it . Tilly, Stormy,Daisy,Poppy! Just to name a few!Good luck and rest up you will need it for the first few months , :clappurple: Traci
how 'bout RONNIE...(Ron would love you forever!!!! :D )

no no...seriously...I would go to a girl's name website. It IS fun looking up the names and seeing what they mean!

Can't wait to see this little munchkin!!!!!! :aww:
Thanks to all for name suggestions! This is such a wonderful group! We of course are still trying to decide. It took us 2 months before Kolby was born to decide on "Kolby". When I found out "Kolby" means "sweet, handsome, comical fellow" - that clinched it!

For the "baby girl to be", Rachel (my 14 yr old) likes "Stella", Hubby suggested "Wilma" (as in Flintstone???) and I thought of "Kara" as I was walking Kolby tonight. I looked up "Kara" and it is an Old English name that means "beloved friend". That really touched my heart when I read it. And I think it would be cute to use "Care Bear" as her nickname since our OESs look like big panda bears! Another reason to name her "Kara" - because we are gonna Kar-a lot about her - :rimshot:

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day with probably another 10 new names that will be tossed around.

Any other votes for "Kara"?

P.S. Can anyone tell me how to post pictures near your name on the left?and also within a message?

Sheepie hugs,
Jackie
OOooooo I love that name kara!!!
I like Kara and I know a Caroline who gets "care" for short.

I like Kara!! and it goes good with Kolby. :clappurple:

Kara in Italian is used for an endearment. Means dear, darling, sweetheart. What they use for people they love. :hearts:

Seems like a good name to me.

I have updated the instructions there to reflect the forum's new User Control Panel format.
AWWWW! Thanks so much for letting me know the Italian meaning! We are actually Italian - Grecco is our last name.
I really think Kara is going to win!! And I can call Kolby and Kara "my K Kids"
