OES needs permanant home

Hi, A friend of mine had a 6 year old spayed female returned to her. She went to a home when she was 8 weeks old and the family has had her since she was a puppy. Kids have grown and moved out...mom has cancer and is dealing with chemotherapy and radiation and cannot care for her. My friend already has 9 adults and would really like to find a home where someone can pay attention to her. She is a really hilarious dog with a wonderful sense of humor. She has her championship and loves other dogs. If you would be interested in this wonderful girl (named Autumn) feel free to contact me

Can you tell us where the dog is located please?
Have you considered going with rescue? OES rescue will screen the possible homes for Autumn, so you'll have the peace of mind knowing she's going somewhere that she'll be properly cared for, and to a family that would be a good fit for her.

Did she get in touch with Diane?
She'll recognize the name.

Check your email
Everyone... STOP!!!

This dog is NOT available! The breeder has a contract with the owner of the dog and has been notified. Please let her handle this.
Thanks, Nita! :phew:
Good to know- thanks Nita!

I was only asking.....I can read normal type!
This does bring up an interesting point though.....how often do adopted dogs go back to their breeders???? The reason I ask is unlike most although I love puppies I actually love having a slightly older dog. I have always gotten rescues but with everyone's mention of hips and such I was wondering if I was going to consider getting a second OES is it worthwhile to contact some breeders to see if they have any OES that are a year or two old. I think I was very lucky to find Bella so quickly but it seems as if some people are waiting a long time to get that special furkid.

I was thinking the same thing. The people on this forum were only trying to help. :cup:
I don't think it was intended meanly; we ofter get wrapped up in helping, and unless something is in really bold type, it won't get read. I know I often skim a thread's contents. I'm sure that Nita was making the type huge and red for people like me-- that don't always read everything before we post!
Thanks, Allison. That's exactly what I was trying to do. Sometimes people see a thread topic and stop when they've read what they want to see.

I got involved in working with the breeder last week to help recommend a home for Autumn. Circumstances changed so I wanted everyone to wait before getting their hopes up or wasting unnecessary effort.

Another thing we hate to think about here is that we do have "lurkers" that may not have a dog's best interest in mind. I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my post, it wasn't meant to come across that way.

Rescue is very frustrating sometimes, I know...

No worries, Nita!

Yes, a lot of times breeders do have adult dogs to rehome.
It is certainly worth it to check with them as well.

This is the route I chose after Chloe passed away. I found that the OESCA breeders I contacted did not have any older dogs regularly. I did find two dogs over the last six months, and both breeders admitted that it was a rarity. One dog needed a show home, and the other wasn't what we were looking for at the time. It'd be nice to have a section(or even code word  ) for such, but I guess thats still advertising. While we continue to support rescue, and will adopt another rescue at some point, our next furbaby will have a healthy pedigree and temperament from a great breeder. I know its not a guarantee, but just to "stack the deck" in my favor.
That was my thinking as well. I do have to say though that Bella my rescue has been great and everyone always is surprized when I tell them that she is a rescue.
Hello,
Thank you for your private messages and offers to take this sweet girl. The family has decided that they can't part with her so she will remain in her home. I am sure she will be a comfort to the family's medical healing! Best wishes Autumn!
  I'm so glad this all worked out
Thank you for the update.
