New brushes!

How's that for a hot topic? 8)

When I was at the recent Land O'Lakes KC show in St Paul, I was just there to visit friends and SHOP!
It's the best vendor show we have :D

I bought 2 new brushes, and I really like both of them.

The 1st is a remake of one I already had and liked.....had, as in it's Missing

It's the wood pin Chris Christenson, now available with the wooden handle part dipped in a light coating of a nice grippy rubbery stuff. I like it - less hand fatigue. I was actually planning on just replacing it w/ the original all wood one, but I do like it better. It's the pink one in the pictures below:
(The comb is just in there for scale)

Then for the totally new one - the red one. It's made by Pure Paws, and it's quite interesting. Normally I wouldn't use one with pins that stiff, but they are really rounded (totally smooth) on the ends. I brushed it on my inner forearm, and it's smoother than any other pin brush. And the hand grip was really nice. And the price was good ($18.99), so I decided to gamble and buy it.
I took it back to our grooming area, and Sunny and I tested it out on Ruby and Paislee. It was very nice! It really goes through the coat. For show coat, if you use nice narrow rows in your line brushing it doesn't pull any more undercoat out than any other decent pin, but it also picks out those little "popcorns" - those little balls of shed out coat that drive me nuts! Normally you would brush many strokes to get them, or need to grab the slicker to get them out - this brush does it. :D
And I've found for Chewie it does great on the parts where I would pin brush then go through with the wide "butt" comnb, that this brush does it all. (like forelegs, etc)

I've looked online, but I can't find it listed. Not even on the Pure Paws site. I wonder if it was some promo item?? I hope not, I want to get another!
(PS - in the last picture the pins look like balls on the ends, but it's just the reflection off the rounded tips and my slightly out of focus picture  )

Wouldn't that be sweet, I'd take free brushes for life!
I loe my wooden pin brush from CC. I'll have to keep an eye out for the other one when I'm at Westminster; maybe they're setting up there!
I love my CC wood pin brush!! all of my pups love it. I also have the gold pin one as well. I need to get a nice comb though. I cant get out the little matts with the wood one. Hey have any of you heard about useing like corn meal or corn starch to help get out the the little boogers???

I feel so raped by shipping at Cherrybrook that I only want to buy from them at shows. I love the stuff but I feel like no matter what I buy on the site, it's gonna cost me another $15 to get it.
