New here from NJ.....well not really....

Hello,

My name is Shari and I am in New Jersey.

Well, I guess you could say I am new to the forum because I am actually introducing myself and typing something.
I have been lurking around here for a few months now. I have found this site and the people who are on it to give good advice and are very compassionate. It is nice to see such a wonderful and strong community.

We lost our 15 year old OES at Thanksgiving. Her name was Lucy Blue (aka Lady Blue Lightfoot). She was the center of our world and we loved her so incredibly much. It was sad to let her go, but, in the end.... it was time.... Fortunately, she had been healthy her whole life and she was so good and friendly.... kids, adults, any kind of animal... you name it and she would love it.

Since the quiet was killing us, we have decided to get another puppy. We will be picking up this OES bundle of fur in the middle of Feb. We are so excited and she is a real cutie pie.

I just wanted to say hello and stop lurking around here. This will be the 1st time we had a puppy together since Lucy came with me. So.... it has been a long time since we had a little pup and I am looking to this site for lots of good advice. I have some books and I am beginning to get ready.

Shari

Welcome from Tennessee!
Welcome from Florida! I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of ur sheepie girl. I will look forward to seeing new puppy pics posted in Feb...not too long before that baby sheepie brightens up ur life again!
Welcome from Southern NJ. Fifteen years is a long and from your comments healthy life for any dog let alone a large breed like ours. Our first OES lived to be about 14 as I recall. Bailee is 2 and counting.
Welcome I'm glad you introduced yourself. I lurked for a few months first too. :D

Sorry to hear of the loss of your girl and looking forwards to stories and pictures of your new puppy.

So sorry about the loss of your sheepie, but so happy that she had a long and healthy life. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories of your new puppy!
Hi Shari, from WV, and welcome. Sorry for your loss, we never have our girls long enough. Congrats on the new puppy, :hearts: excited for you!
Welcome!!! I'm in Atlanta now, but am originally from NJ! I'm sorry to hear of your loss, though as the others have said, what a great age for a sheepdog! Best wishes to you on your upcoming puppy adventure; be sure to have a camera handy! Those puppies will astonish you and keep you laughing (as well as keep you from sleeping!).
Hi, and welcome from NJ too. Congrats on the new puppy! Do you mind I if I ask you if are getting it locally.
No, we didn't get her from a local breeder. I did reach out to everyone on the OES website in this area and noone had puppies available and noone was breeding anytime soon. The closest I got was "maybe" a spring or summer litter if there was enough interest. It wasn't a sure thing.

I actually had to branch out.... I had interviewed a few breeders and I also interviewed a couple of people in NJ who received puppies from this particular breeder that I went with and they were all very happy...

If you are interested in any of the details, feel free to reach out to me.
Welcome to the community! I'm sorry for your loss. Most of us know that hole that Sheepies leave behind. It's a terrible thing.

But.... WELCOME to the fun of telling us all about your :hearts: PUPPIES!!! :hearts: Puppy Pics!!! Yahoo!!!

oh, was that out loud? :sidestep:

I'm glad you found us.
