BLIZZARD

Well, Mark, your snow has found us and in a big way! As I write, we are in the midst of a blizzard... :cow: 50 plus mph winds, snow falling at two inches an hour and to make matters worse, a coastal flood warning - I live two houses from the Bay! Expecting about 2 and a half feet of snow with bit drifts from the wind... And then another few inches in the morning...Spring is when again?????

Yug. Box it up and send to Mark. Hope you don't lose power. Stay inside and stay warm!
Gettin hammered pretty good. I still have power, but that's only because I went out earlier and tested my motorhome's generator. You're welcome, neighbors.

My brother is at JFK, his daughter was supposed to be in a flight last night but was bumped; her flight today was cancelled but they put her on another airline and we THINK it took off. I was listening to air traffic control and didn't hear it go, but I just realized there may be two different atc tower channels.
Not the time to be flying at all back there. Sorry she got bumped last night, it was the time to get out.

Stay warm, stay safe.
It's about time someone else besides Dawn or myself got the snow!

And really, 2.5 feet? That's kid's stuff. That's peanuts.
Call us when you get 5 or more feet.

Really! :high5: :high5:

I heard that you had bare ground before this...what kind a wimpy people are you out there!

Seriously - take care everyone, and settle in and enjoy :D

Ron - Todd did the same thing - no power loss yet.

We have the next wave (lost count what number this is!) coming on Thursday - but it's supposed to actually get above freezing, so we will have ANOTHER icy mess.

SNOW, it's supposed to be SNOW in Minnesota!!
We haven't gotten anything for a while now but Thurs and Friday temps will be up and they're predicting rain or rain/snow or maybe sleet. Guess we'll have to stay. Not going anywhere New Year's Eve so all is good.
All your warmth must be finally making its way down here!! :high5: :yay: :excited:

We are finally getting some proper summer weather for NY eve. It will be a lovely 97 degrees farenheit. :clappurple:
I can't wait! I LOVE the hot weather. Tiggy on the other hand wants to go and live with Chewie. :( But we will put the air con on and Santa Paws brought her a pedestal fan all for her very own. :clappurple:
Chewie says he'll meet her at the airport!  :excited: :excited:
Ron, hope she made it in. All the flights out of NY were cancelled and people were sleeping in the terminals for two days now!

Oh, Mark and Dawn, quiet down...We city-slickers can't deal with snow! :excited: Three inches closes us up...imagine what this two and a half feet did! Ha ha...Got me the day off work!  Took us four plus hours to celan the driveway off - no plowing. Just plain shovelling and snow blower. Drifts were over five feet high!

Our electric stayed on thankfully...so Ron, how did you make out. Heard on the news Mass is getting slammed!
Stay warm and safe and off the roads...
WOOHOO....100 miles inland and not a flake :yay: :yay:
Be careful all; take care of yourselves. Looking at the pictures it does not look like fun!

Well it didn't go and after they pulled away from the gate JFK shut down the terminal. So they kept them -- all 500 of them-- on the plane on the tarmac for 10 hours until the terminal reopened. They fed them on the plane and gave them vouchers for food in the terminal but nothing was open. Apparently there was a local Rabbi on board who called someone and his congregation brought food for all 500 people. That's the story I've been told.

Then the next night they boarded them at 6PM and didn't take off until nearly midnight for a 10 hour flight.

Oh my that is worst nightmare kind of stuff. It's bad enough to be stuck in the terminal but stuck on the plane itself Bleh.

That's such a cute photo.
Who said global warming was happening :lmt:

Up to the north in Australia after 10+ years of drought "Floods" in queensland, towns evacuated due to flood waters, the weekend before christmas "Snow in the high country of "Vic and NSW"

My dogs are still getting use to wet stuff falling from the Sky, Oooooh Mumma we dont want to walk outside in the wet stuff, we after years finally have lawn again after water restrictions and all the rules and regulations there the dogs are like suffering from mad cows disease now with green in the yard. :cow:

Heaviest snow in Europe, you guys in the states so much for "Global Warming"

Summer has finally arrived tomorrow NYE (yes we get to celebrate that FIRST again :P  ) we are finally having a Hottie for summer, 38c Woo Hoo, tonight we travel to the high country to bring in the NY at the farm tomorrow night so am looking forward to that and the air con blowing away while we make more piggys out of ourselves feasting, diet starts sometime in January :P :lmt:
Ron, I was watching that on the news tonight. It made the tops story! Hopefully, everyone has finally gotten airbound and are on their way to their destination safely.

Reminds me why I never fly...especially in winter!
No more global warming Lisa.

Its global climate change now. :)

Which part made the news... The general situation or the Rabbi thing in particular?

Which news?
Well for us it was Eyewitness Channel 7 news...Not sure about the Rabbi thing. BUT the plane on the tarmac for 11 hours at JFK made the top story. In fact, Congressman King I think his name is, in charge of Homeland Security, is calling for an investigation to find out why they left the people in the plane so long..

So what happened with the Rabbi?
diane,
the rabbi fed everybody a virtual feast.
then he did ron standup and everyone fell asleep till it was time to depart tarmac.
:excited:
We were half hoping my daughter's flights would be cancelled, before she left here. But she and the cat made it back to VA without any problems. There was 3 inches of snow on her car, but it brushed off nicely.

Now Arizona and NM are being hit hard. We were supposed to go the Fiesta Bowl, but I am choosing not to drive in that mess.
