Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse
BUT...my dogs are acting CRAZY! They never want to run outside at night and tonight drove me crazy until they got outside...Is it the full moon?  Or do they know Santa pwas is on his way?  |

You are not alone! Oscar, too, is a lunatic! When he was a puppy, he would wake me in the middle of the night to take him out. Thinking he had to go potty, I would get up. He would go outside and walk and sniff, and walk, and sniff...... no potty. This happened a couple of times before I noticed that it was really bright outside.  I discovered that Oscar was a lunatic. In addition to wanting to be outside, he also gets a little frantic during the day. He pants and paces, which is not normal for him. It's gotten to the point now where I can tell there is a full moon waxing, as his anxiety ramps up over a few days. During the full moon, I try to keep his routine as normal as possible, to minimize his anxiety overall. Some months are better than others. Laurie and Oscar, My Little Lunatic |
Our dog walker noticed and commented that Nola was unusually crazy this week. I noticed it as well but didn't think much of it until now...  |
Sadly, we had clouds that night - remnant of the latest snow...  But, in general it has been SO BRIGHT here. All the snow and the full moon makes it nearly as bright as day outside at night. Very cool. The dogs are on alert - especially nocturnal Maggie the coonhound.  |
