Sleeping with two sheepies!

Hudson's always been a bit of a bed hog, but when it comes down to me vs him I consistently win, and he leaves the bed with a grumble and heads back to the dog bed on the floor. Rudy's very polite and respectful and takes the spot at the end by our feet.

So last night, I am a little feverish, have a sick tummy, feel achy and gross, and cannot seem to sleep. Hudson picks last night to take a stand over bed space allotments. Hudson loses. Three or four times in fact.

But, later, when I finally manage to get comfy (flat on my tummy) and nod off the little rat comes back up on the bed, and lays right across my back, perfectly perpendicular to me, full on.

I wake up pinned to the bed, completely unable to breathe. I pull myself up, which makes him roll down my back and he leaves in disgust. Then, three more times, he does it AGAIN! Each time waiting until I'm finally asleep.

So today in addition to being sick at home, I've had no sleep and my back is killing me. I've no idea where this idea came from, but Hudson better forget it right now, or it's going to be a night in his crate for him.

So, what happened? Did this plan just pop into his mind? Does he think he'll wear me down and I'll sleep elsewhere? And, most importantly, why doesn't he do this to his dad instead?

That makes me glad my large cat is the only animal in our room at night...and I think he weighs a ton!
And he is an equal opportunity squisher - he rotates between Todd and I.
Maybe he knows you're sick and thought you needed a warm sheepdog blankie!

Laurie and Oscar, he who is not allowed on the furniture.....
Maybe he senses a vulnerability and is just waiting to take over your position of dominance! :D :D :D

 Ok, well Kim and I have different struggles with Mady.... We can't get her to sleep in bed with us... When we go to bed, she'll pop up for a snuggle, but all too quickly, she'll jump down and go sleep on the floor... despite our attempts to get her to stay. I'm sure in bed with us is simply too hot for her, and she likes the tiled floor best for sleeping.
gotta tell you that is how every morning dreamer wakes me up full on i can't move or breath maybe that is why i have backaches :cow:
:cow: No way would I let them ON me. OK, they can rest a paw or head but not the WWF body pin. He considers it HIS bed, sounds like some education is in order.

That said, Harry gets his boost on to the bed at the beginning. I'll start the night in my chair and may join him later. Usally I'm freezing and having his long warm body next (not on top) is comforting. Granted some nights I have to lay over him to impress upon him he needs to move a bit.
Sounds like a dominance issue, or he just likes a warm body.

Both my boys are hot dogs. Simon will come in my bedroom when I'm getting ready for bed, plunk the front half of his body on the bed and be totally silly. Gar stands back and barks. Simon then leaves and goes to sleep in the bathroom which is tiled. Gar stops barking, lays in the hall and sleeps.
