Puppies fur

Im new to this forum (even though ive been looking through the forum for months) and new to the oes world. I just got my first oes girl (Lily).
It maybe a silly q, but it seems like her fur is longer/thicker than most 8 week old oes puppies her age. Is it normal for some puppies to have longer/thicker fur? Some of her siblings had fur like hers but some did not.

Yeah, they can vary within a litter, but then again we are talking OES. Chow chows are also super fuzzy even as pups as well as other "hairy" breeds. Apparently your pup has plenty of hair folicles per square inch, good!
welcome what a cutie she is
What a dollbaby she is~~~~~~~~and she looks very cuddly~~~~~~~~~~

I have one of the fuzzy, cottony sheepies....

When she still had her puppy coat, it would mat if I just looked at her...but now, I love her adult coat...not much matting, and soooo fluffy~~~

Thanks everyone.

Heart has a cute fluffy butt :D

Lily is soo very cuddly. She makes me want 3 more sheepies (I am addicted to sheepies now) but shes my third and 3 dogs at a time is my limit.
it can vary; Tonks and Luna are half sisters, separated in age by only 5 days. You can see a HUGE coat difference between the two of them:

this is them at about 4 or 5 weeks old. Luna's coat was very different from Tonks'; it was curlier, softer, and it went grey much sooner. I think it will vary dog to dog, puppy to puppy.
Butch's seems to be fluffy too and he also went gray very early on.

Lily is adorable and the bow in her hair is precious.
Your puppy looks so cute !
I love fluffy sheepies! :D
But I think it's harder to have a sheepie with more undercoat; more matting I think :|
But good luck with Lily :-D
Thanks, shes a good lil sheepie. So far she tolerates grooming. It may change as she gets older :? but I hope not.
They can vary in the siblings.

My two from the same litter, brother and sister, the sis greyed up faster and not as much dense undercoat then her brother, the brother transitioned much later and has a thick wooly coat and his sis has length growing like crazy, harsh texture while the brother takes longer to grow length.

Completely normal variance in siblings as far as coats are concerned and also transitioning, depends on which side of the family they take after!

Your fairy floss is adorable, lover her markings & her girlie bling!! :hearts:

This was our pup the day we got her, at about 9 weeks. Pretty fluffy, and already with the wet, dripping beard. She also went gray very early on, starting at the butt and moving forward.

Thanks everyone! You are all so helpful.
All of your sheepies are soo cute too! Your sheepies make me want a second already. :aww: I think i may have to join a sheepies anonymous support group.
