My good deed for the day

I was driving down a fairly busy street today, going the wrong way to my haircut appt and saw this older women pulling one of those cart things and carrying something. There are no sidewalks on this street and every time a car came she pulled her cart off the street and waited. At that time the temp was 28 degrees.

I passed her by. Looked in my rearview mirror and turned around. I pulled up beside her and asked her if I could give her a lift somewhere. She told me she only had two more blocks to go and she was fine. What I wanted to do was just chuck her and her belongings in the back and take her the rest of the way but she said she was fine and she thanked me.

I felt bad for leaving her there but at least I asked if she needed any help.

Pam, that was very generous of you. I would be scared to ask anyone if they needed a lift, even an innocent old lady with packages. I'm sure the lady was o.k., but I'm even surer that she was extremely touched by the kindness of a stranger.
