Hear Ye Hear ye ~ Madden's have (almost) settled in Germany

:excited: We have been in Germany for lil' over a week now and are just loving it so far. Our housing situation is still a little up in the air (military reasons) but everyone is soo nice and helpful that I just don't mind yet. I've been taking a 'headstart' class here & it's fun!! I've gotten some basic German language, lots of culture info and tourist info. Can't wait to get to see all the sights.

Lily and Baloo are the center of attention everywhere we go!! We have even had people stop us when out walking to ask if they can take their picture. :twitch: At the hotel in Frankfurt it seemed we were stopped a hundred times just trying to get in and out to take them potty. (People!! Sheepies need to pee! geesh)

I"ll write more when we get more settled. We've been told not to expect our houshold belongings till Dec 27th-- THAT's a real bummer. No tree this year. (Not to mention our bed, couch, clothes, etc) but it's all good.

I'm sorry I couldn't do the Card list this year. I really will miss it!! I WILL be on the list next year!!! :)

That's all great, Bekki (well, except for the belongings!)
I would love to be there. Had a BIL/SIL stationed there years ago, they had a good time.
Also friends there over 25 yrs ago. I still remember Ann saying they didn't get their apt. deposit back. They didn't have the proper electric conversion, so the vacuum didn't work...they SWEPT it for a year! 8O

And you know we will expect pictures!!
It is good to hear all arrived safe and sound. Enjoy your time in Germany. Too bad about the furniture's late arrival. Oh well, all will fall in place before u know it. Good luck!
Glad you are there and having a wonderful time! Where are you stationed? John was stationed in Frankfurt, and we lived above a German bakery in Rodelheim ( on the economy). We spent our first Christmas together as a married couple there. The holidays were a beautiful time.

Pictures when you can!!!
Did your dogs have to go thru a quarantine procedure before they could join you?
Or does the military have a way of expiditing (or circumventing) that rule?
You are Army and know how to go with the flow. You've got your 2 and 4 pawed family, the rest is just fluff. Jump in with both feet and soak up the country. Before you know it you could be elsewhere.
It's a wonderful adventure. So much history and beauty.
So glad things are going well! I hope you enjoy the holidays sans xmas tree (and furniture) :D
So glad to hear you're settling in! Was wondering how the move was going. We'll miss you on the card list this year, but like you said - there's always next year!
Das ist Gut!
