My parents' dog is now gone.

I'm so sad.

They took him into the vet this morning and had to say goodbye. He was a sweet, loving fellow, and will be missed.

Two of the vets phoned later, and asked if my folks would permit an autopsy. They were stymied about what was wrong, and wanted to know for sure. They found nothing discernably wrong. All his previous issues were healing nicely.

So, they are going with neurological problems, a stroke being the most suspected. None of that is of any comfort, of course. Good bye Malarki. You will be missed.

Tracie, losing a pet has been one of the hardest things besides my parents, to deal with.

Let your parents know we are grieving with them.
I am so sorry.

We're called "owners" but do we ever truly own them? I think we really only get to barrow these beautiful souls for sometimes only moments, several years if we're lucky. But a day does come when that beautiful spirit will have to leave us and it's always way too soon. Love helps us to release them from a failing body if that will keep them from suffering needlessly. The moment they're gone, we're then forced to pay the debt for that gift of love and that's with tears, sadness and a heavy heart. They have such a huge presence in our lives and it hurts so much... but it wouldn't have been the same without them. He was blessed to have been dearly loved.

Wishing you and your parent's peace...

That is sad news. Glad your vets could at least answer some of their questions, and give them peace that they did all they could. Some things just can't be fixed :( :(
:ghug: :ghug: to your parents and you. They touch our hearts more than we can ever imagine and it is so unbearably hard to let them go.

Run wild and free at the bridge, Malarki!
Special thoughts go out to you and your parents. It is so hard to let them go. So very sorry :ghug: to all of you.
