I sent this to a friend in RI looking for a boy!
Thanks Jaci!
I hope he'll be a match!
Thanks, Kathy! :D
HE actually already has somebody going to meet him on Saturday!!! :clappurple:
Hope it works out but, I believe somebody else wants him too if it doesn't work out!
We adopted him!!

He's a sweetheart named Shelby with amazing manners and he's so loveable that my heart goes out to whoever gave him up. The ASPCA papers that came with him say 'personal problems' as a reason -- makes me wonder if it was a job loss, because this dog is fully trained and knows lots of tricks and was very obviously well cared for and loved.

I had to put down my sweet Layla a few weeks ago and my husband and I agreed that we wouldn't get another dog unless fate placed one in our path -- well, sure enough, we saw Shelby on Petfinder on Saturday and as of last night, he's a part of our family!
:clappurple: So happy for Shelby! Sounds like lovely boy! Sorry to hear about your loss, guess Layla was looking out for you!
He looks adorable in that picture, congratulations to you! Please stick around these forums and post some of your own pictures of Shelby.
Wonderful news!
He is so cute and it sounds like a wonderful match for all of you.
I'll certainly be hanging around these forums. Shelby looked like a snowball in the original pic that rescue posted, but the foster home shaved him down, with the best of intentions, and now he looks all nobbly knees and great big head.

Here's a pic of him just chillin' on his first day at home.

I'm sorry about the loss of Layla :(

It's so nice that Shelby crossed your path! During an adopted dog's transition into a new home, a short coat isn't a bad thing. You have no pressure to get through a grooming session because of mats so you can instead focus on getting him into a new routine by play-grooming, bonding with your new boy and building trust. So enjoy that short coat for now... it won't be too long before he's nice and woolly again.

You know... it's very sad he was surrendered due to personal problems. There are times when good people simply can no longer keep a much loved OES companion. http://untilyoufindme.com/Surrendering- ... ed-OES.htm I bet his previous owner would find comfort in knowing he's with a family that's has loved the breed before.

Thanks for opening your heart and home to him. :hearts:
I am sorry about your loss of Layla :(

so happy for shelby and you :clappurple: :clappurple: :cheer:
Thank you for your condolences and for the great OES rescue poem -- it really got me choked up until I got to the happy ending!!
congratulations on your new baby boy! :clappurple: He looks so sweet, like most sheepies do. :D We rescued Ryleigh back in August and had to shave her all the way down too, and now her coat is full and thick. We got lucky with her, she LOVES to be brushed. She sees me with her brush and she comes and sits on me. My first sheepie hated it. She would just hear the drawer her brush was kept in open and she would go hide.
Again Congrats, and looking forward to more pictures.
'yeah for shelby!
