BEFORE and AFTER

WOW!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
Carl was extremely generous to let me use his bathing and grooming facilities last night so she'll be looking great at the Canadian OES club Speciality this weekend. She was in dire need of a bath. We had groomed her Wednesday in preparation for the bath, so she's not looking too terrible in the BEFORE pictures. But what you really can't see in the pictures, is that we were losing the battle with her ears (AGAIN!), she had big mats on her cheeks and under her chin, her feet and legs still had a lot of trouble spots. This past month it seemed like the mats were going out of control and growing instantly, we were having so much trouble keeping up.

I bathed her and that went fine, Carl has a great dog bath setup. After we put her on the grooming table for drying though... Carl couldn't resist fixing her up, I still have so much to learn and practice! Carl fixed her ears, her muzzle, her face, her feet, her legs, and all these other mats that were hiding. Mady came out a different dog.

HUGE thankyou to Carl!! :clappurple: :clappurple: This was like a "grooming reset" which caught us up on all her trouble spots. Now it's up to Kim and I to ensure those trouble spots remain trouble-free. This was a lifesaver. And we're leaving for the speciality this afternoon and I can't wait to show her to Amber! We still have a session planned for Amber to train us in keeping her feet, sanitary areas, and ears trimmed/cleaned. Mady is a very lucky girl, but we are so much luckier to have such tremendous generous support in keeping our baby beautiful!

The pictures don't really show the difference well, since most of the nightmare mats don't show up in pictures, but in person, she's a new dog!

8O wow.

I think Carl should take appointments to help us novice groomers. I bet many of us would pay to learn how to be better groomers! I know I would!

Mady looks gorgeous!!!
Carl, I can't tell you how grateful I am for the support you have given to us. I couldn't keep my hands off Mady after she got home. You are a natural teacher and I feel so lucky to have met you, your lovely wife and your fantastic fur-kids. Now off I go to show her off!
Great grooming job!! :clappurple: I love the 7th picture of Mady on the floor. :-D I have to say that pose is my favorite sheepie pose.
She looks great ! :-D
Wow! you're lucky! :o

How old is Mady ? :-D

She's getting so big !
(I know I said it in another post but it's so true! 8O )
Mady looks great!!!
All of us here can tell how big a difference Carl's help made because we groom too.

Her legs are so much fuller and fluffier as is her face in the after photos. :clappurple:
Look how fluffy that coat is!!!!!

Kim,
I'm glad you liked David's work on your little girl. And thanks for your kind words about me being able to teach, it is always easier to teach people whent hey want to learn and you two are certainly amongst that group. It is so easy to see just what Mady means to you and how dedicated you are to becoming the best parents you can.
And yes Michele is a lovely and special woman to say the least.

Have a great time a the specialty!

Best Cheers
Carl

Allison,

I know it doesn't really help you and the more distant forum members at the moment but in numerous past posts I have stated before that if/when people are in the area I am always willing to help out in any way that I can. Bobtail people just need to contact me ahead of time to make an appointment and we can arrange just about any level of help/teaching that they need - a minor grooming/care point to a full bath/dry with ears feet etc.... I do need a bit of advance notice, say a minimum of 48 hours unless it is an emergency, because I have a fair bit going on both at home and at work, not the least of which is taking care of my own four kids.

I truly love this breed and don't want to see people have to struggle through the initial learning curve on their own as I did when I first got my beloved Punk in my teenage years. It 's not fair to the newcomers as they can become demoralized and give up on the breed, or at least keeping the dog in full coat when that is often a big part of the initial attraction to the breed. Nor is it fair to the Bobtail to get less than optimal treatment - be it grooming, bathing, ear care etc..

Again, thanks to everyone for their kind words about my grooming and teaching.

Thanks and Cheers

Carl
