Finding the right activity for Levi

Levi graduated his first obedience class yesterday! He has remarkably improved in his behavior. He doesn't pull while walking, he will heel with encouragement and he is learning his sit/down stays pretty well.

Asterisk is involved in her Foundation classes for Agility and, on the whole, does a fantastic job. And I as a handler feel like we are connecting better due to this class.

I really think that Levi would benefit from an activity but am unsure of which path to take him. I'm not sure that competitive obedience is the right way to go with him. I am torn between agility and rally classes. Lee is still VERY much a puppy, who is pretty scattered when it comes to focus, so I think a class/activity would be a great way to channel his focus on something positive and constructive.

I'm leaning towards Rally, because not only have I never done it before, but I like the idea that he would have to stay with me as we work the course instead of flying a head of me and me having to keep up as I do with Asterisk in Agility.

Any thoughts? Do you think we should try another obedience class first? Is he too young?

Actually Erin I would suggest a competitive obedience class because even if you choose not to compete it will build a much better foundation for Rally and/or Agility. If I had to do it all over again I would have put a really great obedience foundation on Harry first.

It is only now that I am insisting on his obedience that we are doing better in his other venues.

In fact Harry loves class so much that I will probably take another obedience class with him in the winter. It gives him something to do and it will only help him mind me when it matters. I am not sure if we will compete at the next level of obedience but it can't hurt to take class.
