Where did my strainer go?

I used it last night to drain the brussel sprouts but now I can't find it. Perhaps it ran away with the serrated knife that's no longer in the drawer.

What has mysteriously disappeared from your house lately?

Back in my old life(with my ex), I would swear that I put something some where, or put away in my drawer and when I looked it was gone. It would re-appear a few days later. I just figured I overlooked it.

One day I saw the police at the neighbors across the street and being nosey I went over to check what was going on.

They had two big dobermans and someone was giving the dogs bones...in the house. They had some things go missing(mostly undies) and then re-appear. They did not lock their doors, they had two big dogs. We did not lock our doors, we had three large dogs.

I started thinking. It was undies that went missing. I even mentioned it to the ex. We talked about it and decided the dogs were not a deterent. It had to be someone who we knew and knew the dogs. We even decided who the likely culprit was.

We locked the doors from then on and nothing ever went missing again.

Not to say this is what is happening to you...just thinking about the past.

Did you check the fridge? I find weird stuff in there at times.

You too?

I know often the missing items were misplaced by DH. Finally I asked him to just set them on the counter if he wasn't sure where they went.

Spooky about the klepto in the neighborhood.
I know that weird feeling "I know I put it there and it is not there!!" 8O 8O About a week ago I needed my plunger--looked everywhere --it was not in the house. The thought that someone would take a plunger was beyond my comprehension--Then I remembered "oh yes--I do have children!" Yep--my daughter had taken my plunger to her house without telling me!!  Guess what she is getting for Christmas  ????
ha, got my oldest daughter a plunger for her birthday and spray painted it pink. :cow:
Tipup's litter box is missing!!! 8O

Yep, a litter box.

We had to move it when our well project was going on. All the stuff in that corner of the porch got moved, as they had to break a hole in the cement pad to bring the new pipes into the house. Now the litter box is gone. 2 nights ago I vaguely heard him (Tipup) racing around, up and down the stairs. My alarm went off for work and I woke to this awful smell....yep, he had to go poop and was locked in the house without a litter box! Todd has been looking for it for 2 days and can't find it...
If he can't find it today, he is going to have to go buy a new one!
 I cannot believe you lost a litter box!!!!!!! I'd be freaking out wondering when the next time they'll go. I lose "cats" allllllllll the time. We shut the doors to every room and they often get locked in there from 6 a.m. until like bedtime ....and they hold their pee all day!!! They also sneak into the garage!

I so put things in the fridge too! So funny what you find in there.

Lately if I use the bathroom or run upstairs to get something, Jilly finds it funny to hide stuff in the bottom oven!!!! It's a pull out drawer. A few weeks ago we had the problem of HER CLIMBING INTO IT and using it as a seat while I'm in there cooking, and after several No Jilly's!!! ....she now just puts "other" things in it as a compromise!!!! *pulls hair* I always forgot this stage ...the never leave your side and have to empty every cabinet 1000 times.
I lost my work keys for the first time ever. They have a HUGE keychain that I got when I was a kid that says "JILL" in giant raised letters so there's no doubt, if they're found, who they belong to (I'm the only Jill in the building!) I never lose keys and I have no idea what could have happened to them. The worst part is, our facilities guy is an angry old man and I'm going to get yelled at and a lecture. I'm going to keep looking and hope for the best. Luckily, the janitors also share my fear of the facilities guy so they've been letting me in to all the places that I need to get into lately.

My sister has 5 cats and I've never seen all of them at one time (maybe not even all of them at all). They're always hiding out and disappearing.

I kinda sorta lost the marriage documentation that I need to send to the officials showing that David and I really did get married. In my defense, I had it all set to send it and he had his stupid most inconvenient heart attack, and then it got misplaced in the ensuing chaos. I really must find those papers, I think that I had 90 days to send it, we got married mid-August, yeah, I really should find those. I bet they are in some missing litterbox in Minnesota!
I found the strainer. It was hiding behind my pots. I guess he was scared of the spaghetti I needed to drain!
I lost my "peelie thingie" I call it that!
I guess it is a potato peeler...

I used to have to search for my favorite paring
knife all the time until I solved the mystery...
Marty was using them for tools when he couldn't
find what he needed! :cow:
Misuse of kitchen knives is a major offense only I am allowed to do.

Having one of those days where ooodles to do, nothing getting done because of the interruptions....I'm thinking a drink is in order. RON, have any of that Sabra left??
I used a wall board sanding block once on a small hole I had filled with joint compound. It is a rather large thing with a BIG plastic D handle. I put it with the compound hawk and trowel on top of the joint compound bucket in the hallway. Or at least I think I did.

It was several years ago, has never been found and has been replaced.

Oh you too!!!! :cow:

Half the knives from my cutlery set are gone. So is my favorite paring knife. Wayne swears he doesnt take them to use as tools but I keep catching him out. I found my paring knife in his tool box a few years ago and stole it back but it went missing again and hasnt been seen again.

About 3 weeks ago I was weeding a garden bed and found a paring knife that I dont ever remember seeing before. 8O I'm not sure if I bought it and Wayne stole it straight away, so I forgot I owned it or if he bought it and then left it in the garden. He would have been using it to cut new wiring for the fountain lights. Unfortunately I dont like it. It doesnt feel right.
Knives - here too.
Although after 26 years he has improved. The quality of our knives has improved also and he does most of the food prep.....lol....what a dilemna for him! If he steals a knife, he only punishes himself.

Seems like such a good solution but when its up to Wayne to prepare dinner I usually get supermarket pizza or like tonight supermarket roast chicken. No need for knives.

I would have been thrilled with the pizza or chicken last night. Todd made duck last night...I HATE duck!
He has been duck hunting evey morning and some eves as well. In fact he's out now...you can start 30 minutes before sunrise. The rest is going to be dog food. I told him to clean and cook, bag and freeze the rest he gets!
My mind. And it's a terrible thing to loose. ;)
