I used to leave a drop of water down for mine but i know of a lot of people that take the water up about 10pm and put it back down in the morning.
We always lift water up at 6 pm and then give it to them in the morning when they eat between 4-6 a.m.
I just used to leave a tiny saucer down, as if they decided to play with the water, it wouldn't make that much mess, and if they drank it all the puddle wouldn't be that big... :clappurple:
I used to leave water down all night for my labs, but they were house broke. When we got Ryleigh I started taking it up about 9pm to help with house breaking her. This way she doesnt have accidents during the night. Then they get it back by 7AM with breakfast.
We used to let our pup lick some ice cubes before bed while house training...Now they each have a bowl all night long...Just be sure tyey had somewater before bed and give in the morning..unless of course they just had alot of exercise before bed or its very hot. Then I would be sure they have water available...then a walk...then bed...
