Breeders in/around Western PA?

I am trying to find a breeder either in Western PA, or within a reasonable driving distance (4 hours?). We are trying to find a breeder who will be planning a litter for spring to early summer 2011. Any help is appreciated.

You can find lots of info about the breed as well as reputable breeders all over the country by going to the Old English Sheepdog Club referral list. Unfortunately you live in an area that is infamous for puppy mill breeding so please take your time and research the breed and more importantly the breeder. I know of at least one or two within a drive from western PA. Take a look at the referral list and then start making calls.
Thank you - I did get a number of names in Ohio ( around Columbus) and in western New York and one in central PA. Most appear to be within a 250- 300 mile drive. So not too bad. I plan on contacting them and hopefully scheduling a visit. While I realize a reputable breeder will want to check me out and my family. I too want to check them out. It has to be a good fit all the way around. We want a puppy with an excellent temperment and good health first and foremost. So I am looking for someone who knows what they are doing and are not just in it for a quick buck$.

I appreciate your help and I have also reached out to the breeder referral contact on the OESCA website as well.
Please be careful. My sweet boy came from PA. He has alot of orthopedic issues. Please do your homework. Make sure both parents hips have been certified..

If western NY is an option, there are a few VERY good breeders there. They are on the referral list. You are so smart to be concerned about health first and foremost. If you read some posts on this forum, you will see how some poor pups and their owners are now going through lots of pain and hardship due to poor breeding. Keep us updated!
I have made contact with one breeder from western NY on the referral list and will be going up to the national show in Henrietta to meet her and some of her dogs. I hope to also meet some other breeders there as well. Trying to do as much homework as I can. Thanks again for all the help and advice.
nashman, that is a terrific idea to go to the Nationals! You will meet up with lots of good contacts and be sure to watch the performance part of the show! Lots of fun!

Now when you get that little puppu, be srue to come here to the forum and post some pix and share with us all the puppy antics we love! :) :)
