Looking For A OES "Sheepie"

Hi all,

My husband and I had to put our beloved "Sir Wooly Witts Counting Sheep" otherwise known as Winston to sleep due to cancer. He was 10 and an OES.

If anyone knows of any OES in LA, MS, or even TX that needs a good home - please let me know.

We have no small children (our sons are 17, & 19), and have a large house and a very large fenced (8 ft high) in yard.

OES have a very special place in our heart and we are willing to be parents to 1 or 2 or maybe even 3.

Would prefer not to have one with medical problems right off the bat due as we went through a lot with Winston and it devastated us.

Please email me if you know of any.

Thanks ever so much,

Wynette wynetteh@cox.net

If you go to the home page for OES.ORG there are links and e-mails to rescue groups here in the South. You can also try petfinder.com, there are always some available there throught rescue.
I have found this link for TX rescue

Nia has been waiting for a home for a long time. She is at the Texas OES Rescue site that was mentioned above. I would have loved to add her to my family but the distance was too much for me to deal with. Both of my "children" are adopted from rescue and I wouldn't have it anyother way. This month my Tyler Joe will be 12 years old and other than having lots of trouble getting up due to arthritis, he is doing pretty darn well.

My sympathy goes out to you for your loss of your Winston, I can't imagine how it must feel, except that you feel empty and sad, I wish there were more I could do.

Please, when you are up to it, tell us more about your Winston, we love to hear all about our sheepies cousins and siblings...

Leslie
I would love to have Nia also, but Abby will not tolerate another adult dog living in our house.
I'm sorry about your Winston. There is a rescue group in Texas called Heart to Heart. I know their web address is posted on this forum somewhere(sorry I can't remember it), maybe you can try them. Best of luck to you-Holly

I know the feeling, several years ago I had to have my ex take my own Winston alias "My Buddy Budda Butt" to put him down. At the age of 10 His hips had gotten so bad I cringed every time I heard him yelp to have me lift his aching butt off the floor...

Even in pain he always made it into my bed at night trying to steal the pillow next to mine grunting away as he wiggled into a comfortable position. During the day you could always find him curled up with the cat safely tucked somewhere in his legs.

This was the second time I had to go through the same ordeal with an OES and still

...here I sit once again...looking to find another OES to love

Just call me "looking for an OES in NJ"

If anyone knows of an available puppy or rescue please advise

I'm heading to an All Breed show this weekend in hopes of making a contact.
Here is a link to rescue contacts. Good luck in your search. I'm sure there is a sheepie out there for you.

I know Ron has a post about fostering a puppy in MD. That is not too far from NJ.

Maybe that helps.
