LINE GROOMING

just a quick question about line grooming. When I do it lately I have been brushing up towards the spine like the pic essay shows but I have also brushed the lower line down before starting the next line and moving it up. does that make sense?? brush down before brushing up so that way I am getting the line essentially twice and both sides of the hair fibers. Is this what everyone is doing or am I over brushing??? It seems more effective at getting out all of the little tangles. I don't want to damage her hair though by over brushing it.

I think I understand what you are describing, and yes that should be OK. :D

I do a variation, I brush all in one direction, then do the double check in another. It might be the opposite direction, it may be at a 90 degree angle from the 1st line.

The main thing I do, as a holdover from the habits of show grooming, is to have the last direction be the way it will end up. In a simple form, it's basically the front half will end down, the back half will end up. And I hope that makes sense!

Also - were you coming to any of the other Nationals stuff? There is going to be a free grooming seminar. I don't have my premium with, I'm at work. But, I think it is Wednesday afternoon, the 22nd...maybe 1-3pm, sometime in there. Anybody have theirs more handy? I'm not sure who is doing it, and what is planning on being covered, but I like the idea!
So far I can get Friday off from work but I am working on getting the whole week off. I really want to go and watch the agility to see if it might be something we should try. I will go to the grooming section if I can get the day off. I am hoping that if I can't a lot a people will go on Sunday to the herding event so that I can talk with everyone there. Are the grooming seminars posted on the website??? We only sign up for the herding testing so I don't have any detailed listing of the times for each of the events during the week.
It's not on the general schedule. But, if you follow this link, you can click on the left - "Premium List/Entry" and you can view/print more detailed info. It has all the entry info except herding, as well as much more detailed schedule info (the grooming seminar is listed there)
