Does she just want to be friends?

We have two Old English Sheepdogs named "Samson" and "Delilah." Sam is a six year old, 110 lbs. D is two and a half, 60 lbs. The two are inseparable. However, when D is in heat and Sam tries to mount her, she just lies down. Is she not ready? When are we going to have some more pups to play with? Any ideas?

Sounds to me like she is not ready. Our Scout was the same way. Then one day she just started flirting with Edmond and putting her bottom in his face and viola Puppies :) I would just let Nature take its course... Of course she could be really high maintenance has he taken her to dinner? Was there Jewelry involved? :bulb:
I've read this post a few times trying to figure out how to respond...so here it is ( :cup: ):

Why do you want puppies?

I tried...but I'm not known for keeping my mouth shut.

Ditto what she said.
Ditto to the above responses, also have you even done all the health testing and got the results on both of them before even trying to get these two together and produce puppies?

If not then shame on you for trying to produce puppies, not good for the breed at all.
I'm a bit confused by the OP - but I'm betting
even if the person returns he will not post.
Sounds like a troll to me. Anyone who has read
anything here would not post that for real.

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but here's my take on it anyway.

The fact that it was posted by an unregistered user should tip everyone else off to the OP's sincerity. Clearly, he/she is phishing for some free advice that they really shouldn't have access to; meaning that I really hope the don't end up with puppies as I shudder to think what becomes of the puppies and the Mom. Not to mention the Dad if the pups aren't up to the OP's 'standards'.
