They still make desktops? 8)
Desk tops. They force me to sit up straight and also I can't use those itty bitty laptop keyboards and keyboard mouse thingies are too hard for me to use.
They do make desktops, bought a new one last December. Prefer that to using a laptop only.
Hate desktops, I only use laptops. I like being portable and hate being stuck in one spot. I work from home and move around throughout the day - I'm only stuck at my desk for conference calls. Otherwise I might be in the living room, in my bedroom, on the patio, at the kitchen table....
If I were mobil...I'd want a laptop. I like desktop as these old eyes love the very large screens and as Mady's mom said, sit up straight.....sometimes. I no longer need the super fast, mega memory, high function machines, those days over.

Oh, I keep joking I'd like a laptop next to the kitchen table so when DH and I discuss things, I could research, etc. Great, be stuck in the kitchen playing around--near the refrigerator, etc........ instead of back here, playing in private!
I like both-my PC is a desktop and I use it mostly for work--creating docs. etc. It is easier for me to 'work' there. For fun I love my Mac laptop. I travel with it and can use it anywhere in the house.
It depends on what I'm doing. For graphic design and programs that have multiple palettes, I really prefer my Mac desktop with two 27" screens. For most other purposes, my MacBook Pro is cool but I feel so shrunken if I have to actually do work on it instead of my desktop! If I only did internet and the occasional word processing, I'd only ever bother with a laptop.
I prefer my laptop but I dont use it for long periods at a time.

If I had to do a lot of computer work I'd want a desk top to save strain on my back and neck.
Laptop - all the way!
They both have their place.
I like to have one of each in the house.
I have both and I like both :D
Both here!
Desktop? Whats a desktop? I :hearts: my laptops (one at home, one at the office). I think in the very near future desks will be obsolete with the return of simple writing tables. I've always believed in less is best and the desk is just one thing that will no longer exist.
I'm a Network Tech and have them all. I have a laptop, (used primarily for school and travel), I use a desktop for my main workhorse and I have a server that also links my wife's laptop and two other desktops that I use as 'test boxes'. I prefer the desktop that's networked to my server and it's external huge HD for music, photo and video storage. Oh, and everything but my main desktop is Dell; the desktop was a hand-me-down from my neighbor. I'm huge fan of Dell.

I recently bought my wife an iPad for her birthday last March and I've found that to be uber convenient for quick internet browsing. I've found I like that more than I thought I would. It's like a BIG iPhone, without the ability to make calls. Which would interrupt my browsing anyway...

So put me down for all of the above. They all have their place. You just need to decide where your place is... :D
