Frankie has a pinched sciatica

Why yes we spent another evening at the vets office. Frankies right rear leg has been bothering him off and on for a couple of weeks. Not painful, not limping just walking a little different. Wednesday at daycare he got flattened by a big dog and cried. Since then I have been noticing muscle spasms in his leg when he lays down and just a different walk. He walks differently anyway so it's been hard to tell. The vet is guessing it's a pinched sciatica. He doesn't want any of Frankies activities to change still thinks his muscle tone feels awesome and that we are nowhere near needing surgery. So He wants us to keep on all of the herbal supplements and add 2 tramadyl twice a day for a week then follow up. He's telling me tramadyl has really no side effects and he's ok to take it for awhile. We'll see how he does on it.
Hopefully he's feeling better soon.

Awww! I hope your sweet boy feels better soon. I used Tramadol with Chumley and she didn't experience any side effects from it. I hope it works for Frankie too.

Having had sciatica I feel for the poor guy. Its painful.

Personally, I would keep his activity down a little. Just me though.

Poor Frankie--hope he heals quickly!

I know for humans the tramadol equivalent usually works or does nothing, and side effects are not common. So worth trying for sure.
