Breeding and OES and a Newfoundland?

Does anyone else think that a Newfoundland OES cross would be a fantastic gentle giant fuzzball of a dog?

Or am I crazy for thinking it?

Lastly would anyone consider buying one if it existed?

Two of my favorite breeds, but I prefer not to make a mutt. There's really no telling what would come out........an extra large aggressive herder? A dog prone to hip, elbow problems? I'd rather have one of each so I can enjoy all their differences as well as similarities.
There was a 7 week old OES/Newf puppy listed on Petfinder last week... he was deaf. Fortunately, it looks like someone adopted him. :D Each breed carries it's own problems. Buy a mix that was purposely bred? Nooooo... we've got enough of both pure-bred and beloved mutts in shelters. Rescue one, maybe.
That's a mix that comes up from time to time on petfinder. If you check back frequently you'll see one soon enough I'm sure.

I don't know that I necessarily think that people should be creating litters of purposeful crosses - there are so many dogs needing homes already, but I will admit that whenever we've been looking for a puppy we look at the crosses, too. Some are fantastic! Our first was a cross, and he was amazing, so I've never been too picky about purebred vs cross.

Sheepie/GreatPyr crosses are particularly gorgeous too.
I had an email from somebody wanting to surrender one, never sent me pictures, I was curious.
They said she was about 65lbs and 7 months old 8O
I never heard back from them, hoping they decided to keep her!
There is a posting of a cute cross of an OES and a Great Pyranees. Not a Newfie, but still a cute girl!!

One really wonders, if she is only 55 lbs. Coming out of those Ozark puppy mills, she could be anything........
Hi,
I have such a blend and Pippen is the sweetest dog. He does let us know if anyone is coming to the house or walking by on the road, that the OES in him. Our Pip is more Newf sized at 116 pounds. I tired to upload a photo but couldn't get it to work. He has the coloring of an OES with long shaggy hair like a OES just not as fizzy. I would give anything to get another as he is getting on in year. He definitely gets the zoomies, luckily we have a very large yard.
