Not actually a sheepie antic, but...

We loaded up our two sheepies with their oh, so keen observational skills...into the truck to go for an early morning outing to the park across the river. Once they were in and secured, my hubby and I got the feeling we were being watched. (Note...the dogs felt no such thing. )

We looked up and in the tree right beside the truck (only eight or ten feet from where we were standing) were:

My apologies for the quality...it's my cell phone camera. You can see three little faces only, but there were four baby raccoons watching us, their little faces all stacked up like a totem pole. They stayed for a while.

I went out last night with my camera and they were all in the next tree over, about three or four stories above my head. It was dark, so no successful pictures, but I'm on it.

Also, we put out some food for them (I made the worst shrimp dirty rice recipe ever) and it was gone by the time we returned from the park. Good thing, too. It was not exactly tasty, and the recipe was huge. I was terrified we'd have to keep eating it.

We also saw an adult wandering around the driveway last night.

Yes, I know they are pests, and yes, they destroy our garbage constantly, but I don't care. They are cute and I love them!

Oh my gosh.. that is adorable.
I love how they're all on top of each other like that on such little space!!
Cute! Yeah, I'm sure Barney would have no sense that they were near either!

I don't think I've ever seen a raccoon up in a tree before.
They are so cute and love the Totem Pole effect.
They are very cute. But....

My daughter is moving to Roanoke in the next 2-3 weeks. I ask the vet if we needed to do anything special for her cat (indoors only). His response was stay away from the raccoons. In that area, they are a source of rabies. And here too, somewhat.
