Little Miss Princess Pants and her food

Mady is always reluctant to eat any food in the morning. She gets her walk, does her business, we feed her breakfast, and at best, she often takes a couple bites. This morning, she wasn't interested in her food at all, I was leaving for work soon and she would be crated without her food. So I grabbed a handful to offer to her, she ate the food from my hand, I scooped up more, she ate it, scoop, eat, scoop, eat. Apparently, the kibble tastes so much better when she's eating out of my hand (plus the added bonus of a chance to bite the hand that feeds her  ), this was only interrupted when ONE kibble got knocked on the floor, this led to mad-sniffing around for that one lost kibble. Apparently, one kibble on the floor tastes better than the kibble out of my hand, which in turn, is much better than (God-forbid) eating it out of her bowl...

I live in a royal household, living with two princesses (which is not quite as good as it sounds  )

Don't worry, David. Asterisk is the same way. I used to be concerned when she was a puppy when her breakfast would go untouched. But now she's 2 years old and she still won't eat her breakfast. She's just not an overly hungry dog. Most of the time she'll eat just before she goes to bed around 10pm.

She'll ALWAYS eat from your hand though. I figured, if she wasn't hungry, then I wasn't going to force her, she'd eat when she was. Since Mady is the only dog in your house, you don't have to worry about a Blue-Eyed Devil (like my Wendel) to eat all her food for her.

Little Miss Princess Pants certainly has you "eating out of her paw"

You know Dad - she won't starve to death if she doesn't eat all day. In fact, she will learn that if she doesn't eat in the morning before crate time then it will be dinner before she sees food again. So she will start eating.

Let us know if she refuses to eat Monday unless you hand feed her. She may be on to something.
 What really got me, was how she reacted when one kibble fell on the floor, she had a bowlful of food 6 inches from her nose, but if one fell on the floor, she was snuffling around like a pig after truffles!

Don't you know that EVERYTHING tastes better after mommy/daddy has offered it? :D
Well she's a princess and she knows her manners.

When offered a snack, one should politely accept and one never leaves one's mess behind, so it is extremely important to pick up anything one accidentally drops on the floor.

Hmph, commoners! They have NO manners or decorum.
Does she have a really princess type dish to eat out of?
My first yorkie, tiny little thing, would only eat from a china saucer, and drink water from a tiny bowl.
Tilly on the other hand who thinks she is a sheepdog drinks water from an enormous water bowl and laps noisily and then drips water all over the floor, just like a sheepie. Give her small kibble and she refuses it, give her large breed kibble and she loves it.
