Am I crazy?

I am leaving tomorrow for four days at a cottage with my sisters. I should be looking forward to this but I have not left Mady overnight since we got her. I have the urge to fake the flu and not go. Is it normal to not want to leave your dog?

Oh, and who here can I leave in charge of David while I am gone? I am expecting you forum folks to keep a close eye on him. Maybe Heart and Harry can look after him, although I hear Harry can be a bit of a party animal...

Have fun - and there's always skype.... :D :D :D
I hate leaving them. James takes good care of them but he doesn't play super best friend like I do and include them in everything like I do. Other than work, I seldom leave the house without at least one dog!
:excited: :yay: :yay: :yay:  :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:  :yay: :yay: :go:

A WHOLE WEEKEND JUST ME AND MY MADY GIRL!!!

Can't wait!!!! :go: :go: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :yay:
This is strange....I am going on a girls weekend beginning Friday. I just reconnected with these 2 friends a couple of weeks ago. We just lost touch..and now almost 30 years later...it is like old times. I AM looking forward to it, but, like you I am dreading it. Not only will I miss my puppers, my cell will not work in the area we are going and there will be no phone. So, I can't call and find out how they are!

Dino will be working and of course taking care of the 'kids', but....well, you know!!

David seems to be planning a great party even now, tell him do NOT invite Dino and the girls~~P L E A S E ~~~~~~~

Harry may be the only one to 'personsit'.....  BAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
Yes, you are crazy. But you're in good company. :-)

We either take Nelson with us or one of us stays home. Or DH stays home and I take Nelson.

My sister will watch Sassy if we go on a long trip because she's like the tasmanian devil in the car. If she'd behave we'd have to get a bigger car because both dogs would be traveling with us.
As you know, I'm leaving tomorrow also. At least you know when you will be back home and be able to see your Mady girl. I have no idea when I'll see my bobtail brigade. I really hate this. Back to being an American student...*sigh*

Just think of the greeting you will get when you come home...no more remarks about being a sheep! But be careful....Carl tells me I bought Dawnie off with cheese! So, watch the treats you leave at home! lol
Well I'm cazy too!

Last holiday was two years ago. Wayne had to go to Boneo for work so I got to loll by a pool or beach in tropical weather for two weeks. Wayne kept asking me if I was having a nice time.

My answer was always yes but I miss the dogs. My brother was house/furkid sitting and I was checking my email every day. The first week he emailed and I nearly had a heart attack. Someone had put a brick through the windscreen of my car. I was like, oh is THAT all, so what, I'll sort it when I get back!

I didnt care as long as my puppers were ok.
Ummmmmmm, "normal" is so hard to define. :D

I have not spent one night away from Oscar since he came to us at ten weeks old. That was over six years ago. So you sound quite "normal" to me!!!! (Bottom line, if I were to leave him I would just worry about him non-stop, and with all of his health issues, his conditions take some serious management. There's quite simply no one I can trust to keep him healthy while I am gone, except my hubby, but we like to vacation together.)

We do take vacations, but only ones where Oscar can join us.

You should have seen Josh and I last September. We went with his grandparents and aunt to spread the cremains of his uncle. We were in Aspen for four days. It was beautiful there! But do you think we enjoyed the trip?

We called my co-worked who was staying with our dogs and cats daily to check in on the family. Every. Day. Our conversations kept trickling back to our dogs. I think we had a harder time with the separation than they did
i have been doing art shows 2 a month and just hate leaving my boys .. the lady who stays here loves them but... i know it is hard on them .. i might need to get a real job soon and all i can think of is i could never leave my boys all day .. now that is crazy
Oh you are not Crazy...When we got our first OES (Edmond) we had booked a family vacation to Cancun, we had Edmond for about 3 months and our Vacation was drawing near, when our Daughter asked if Edmond would be afraid on the plane? We said no he's not going and she stated well then I'm not going. So....Changed out Vaca to Rocky point so we could drive there and take Edmond with us. :P)
