Aggie got her...

Last weekend Aggie's breeder had an English Shepherd day at her place. We tried her out in duck herding (she went twice) and she didn't try to eat any of them. WOOHOO! They also had Canine Good Citizen testing going on which we weren't going to enter her in. Lee hadn't worked with her in months and we thought she would fail it. Um, yeah, other then forgetting she could sit most of the time she passed the test. 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O We were shocked! She ended up getting a prize for the dog that did the best in all we entered her in. The person that had the ducks said she did the best for a newcomer and had great promise in herding and that we should take classes with her in it. So we were quite pleased. I know, I know, she isn't an OES, but I have to brag somewhere. :) Lee was really pleased and happy with her.

Absolutely!! Bragging is essential. Well done everyone. :clappurple:
Did Aggie get her favorite treat for being such an amazing girl?
Congratulations Aggie!!!!!!! :clappurple:
That's great!! :clappurple:
Is Aggie part Border or Aussie? Yes, take the classes. She may be prewired for that work.
Awesome!
Good job Aggie!!

and mentioning her, we haven't seen pictures in a VERY, very long time!!!!....hint, hint....
Thanks everyone! Yeah, I need to get some photos up. Aggie is one of those dogs that doesn't take good pictures. She's much cuter in person.

SheepieBoss - Aggie is an English Shepherd. It's a UKC breed. They are basically the classic 1900s era American farm breed, and it's thought that their genetics were used in developing both the Border Collie and the Aussie. The AKC doesn't officially recognize the breed. The ladies administering the Canine Good Citizen's Test (who were from AKC and seemed pleasantly surprised by how well most of the dogs did) said it was their first introduction to the breed, and that they'd heard the breed described as "a mixed line of calm Border Collies". So yeah, they are pretty good natural herders, but can't perform the amazing feats of a Border Collie.
Congrats to Aggie!!! If Aggie is shy of the camera I now know where my Aussies got the trait. :D
