Who is a worse mother - Val or Judi?

It appears Val and I are both terrible sheepdog moms.
We have let our dog's get away with bad behavior and have no one to blame but ourselves.

Val has let Heart shred paper, bang into the bed each morning to wake them up, pass herself off as a goat eating non-edible items, terrorize Cosmo and chomp on appendages when taking treats. Let's not forget that on occasion Val has "locked" Heart in the basement leaving her to fend for herself. 8O

As was told to me last night by the substitute teacher in our rally class (and almost every trainer we have worked with) I am letting Harry get away with too many things. It is MY fault he forges ahead when heeling and that he "does so many difficult things beautifully, it is a shame to lose points for such simple things as heeling". I have been told by all of them that I need to be more ALPHA. Everyone else in my life is remaining silent on this issue. Apparently he is a "wonderful dog" and it is all me. :?

So what do you think?

Rest assured, you are not signing up for anything (like having Heart or Harry for a week) by responding to this poll.
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
okayyyyyyyy....

A little warning would have been nice...with friends like you...well, you know the rest!!!! :P

I love that is it 50% JUDI..................

50% ~Neither..

NO votes for Val!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:

Since it is a boring Friday, with much work but no intention of doing much . I just had to respond to this POLL!

Judi and Harry are two peas in a pod~both wanting to be alpha at any given moment~~

IMHO, Val and Heart are the polar opposite...NEITHER wants the responsiblity of being Alpha and ultimately, in charge of decisions, which they BOTH fear would be wrong!!!!!

So, I guess my opinion would be..BOTH are baddddd mommies!!!!!

.........for very different reasons!!!!!
OK ...judi...............

NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:?

I didn't vote. But if I did then YOU would be winning ........ :lmt: or losing. :sidestep:

I suppose I can safely assume you voted for me.

Sorry about not giving you notice. It was actually meant to inject some humor into our situation.

I am hoping that Harry and Heart are at home voting and that we aren't actually that bad of parents in the eyes of this forum.
Crap, I never thought about the fact that people would vote for us.
I guess we need to start taking our training seriously.
I Laughed out loud at "Val was sold a shurtle".

I've met both your dogs, and both of you. More people should be such bad moms to their dogs. Rescue would have ALOT less to do....

I've seen pictures... I may be just signing up for that very thing! (but no chance you or Val would be getting them back!)
LOL - you two have WAY too much to dwell on

And NO WAY am I going to vote and have to face either one...I value my life the way it is!

Humor under stress is a good thing     and I am confident you both will make it through. Deep breaths, ladies, deep breaths

As another option, you can always blame the breeder........ right Kristine???? :sidestep: and ducks....
No offense, but I just put that I'm glad neither is my mother... :rimshot:

No offense taken Jennie....... :?

I wonder if I should contact Val's human children to participate in this poll? :lmt:

Just for the record, Heart never got " lost " in my basement if that tips the scales in my favor. :phew:
I can't vote for either of you since last week I left MO in the car for 2 hours......it was in the garage, PHEW! Silly thing never barked.

Jack is a billy goat.......since I've been testing him to find anything he won't eat (none so far) he has become a PITA at meal time......sitting at attention next to me watching every fork full in hopes he gets the next. (You'd think I'd lose weight with such an audience). He also parks his butt next to me in the kitchen hoping for windfall.
ok..Susan...we need another poll and add you to the choices!!!!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:

tsk...tsk...tsk....sheepiemommy!!!!!!!

That is very not nice of you....You know I take great pains to make sure she doesn't get lost down there. I have a night light on at all times, just in case. It is not my fault if she finds it totally wonderful down in the bowels of my house. It is not my fault that she sneaks down the stairs when I am not looking. It is not my fault that I close the door when I find it open.

HOWEVER....I do seem to remember a little story that was told to me a couple of weeks ago...

Judi and I were finishing up our 2 classes and of course AFTER class, the dogs are taken out to pee/poop before the long ride home. As always, we were talking about all the new stuff we learned while Harry and Heart were 'chilling' in the back seat laying one each other..well, actually Heart was squished in a corner trying to get away from Harry for some, UNdogly reason. Anyway...I digress... Harry seemed to me, to be very jumpy, not being able to get comfortable, but I dismissed it as Harry just being Harry.

Heart and I were dropped off and Judi and Harry went home.

NOw CoMeS THE BaDdDd MOMmIE pARt::::::::

Judi calls me the next day. She states that as she was driving home, she began to smell 'something'...When she got home, she let Harry out of the car and WOW!!! Harry had ALOT of POO stuck to his tusch.ALOT..and he was obviously miserable. POOR HARRY!!!!!! I think he called Heart and begged for her to come and pick him since he knows... Heart has never had anything stuck on HER tusch EVER!!!!! ( and I know Harry is secretly very jealous of Heart's bling...but Judi just won't take the time to fuss with him beautiful hair!!!)

.so WHO is the worst mommy???????

GUESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O 8O 8O
 Ok, now the gloves are coming off and the poop is starting to fly (or at least get stuck to delicate backsides).

I'm enjoying the show!

Okay - now I have to call you out for exagerating the story a bit .........

Harry did NOT mind the poop stuck to his butt!!!!!

In fact I am not sure he would have cared whether or not I cleaned his butt
Quote:
Harry did NOT mind the poop stuck to his butt!!!!!

Children and puppers, get use to things like this.....it IS a shame...isn't it??????? :P :P :P
I had to vote for Val
Image
I was told to vote for Judi? :o This person who shall remain nameless indicated that there was a big prize at stake for Judi and Harry if I just voted for her. I mean, I trust this person, her intentions are beyond rapproach, naturally I never actually READ the poll till after I had voted. My intentions were solely to, you know, support Judi. :cow: :cow: :cow:

Basically, however, I'm with Dawn: you can always blame the breeder

Kristine??????? REALLY??????? :twitch: :twitch: :twitch: :twitch:

OMD...who would EVER do such a thing????? :lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt:

WHO did you end up voting for?????? 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O
That's it...just blame the breeder. Why is it when they act up it is always away from me? Do you think the dogs I breed can "sense" they are back at their origins so they better "toe the line" at my house? Silly dogs!
PS: By the way...............I didn't vote for either of you
Now ladies. Let’s be civil. Having had experience in motherly situations with both of you, I should reflect long and hard on my vote.
I have seen both of you do the most outlandish things to your respective canines.

Poor Harry has had to endure that bowler hat for so long I would think he would look at a picture of Charlie Chaplin and think. Daddy????
And Poor Pearl. Poor poor Pearl. Made to do so many balancing and jumping tricks. Poor pearl. Pearl probably thinks she is one of The Flying Wallendas.
Awwwww...well ONE of my children responded...NOT that way I would have liked, but he DID respond....

oh, nicholas...what part of ...""" please just let everyone know what a phenominal mom I was,,,,,,IS,.,,,,,and ever will BE??????? "" did you NOT understand???????

Well hell I'll vote for me too if you will give me twenty dollars!

For those of you have had your vote "solicited" - don't do it for free - she's handing out money like she lives in Cook County.
...so, Val, Judi... what IS the prize for winning the contest? :sidestep:

Erin that is a good question.

:lmt:

First I suppose we should define "winner". I am assuming it is the person who gets the most votes, technically making them the loser. :?

We are open to suggestions I suppose as to what the person with the most votes gets......

You can start Erin.
:lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt:

Maybe... the winner (hence the "loser"), should have to dress up her respective sheepie in the most embarrassing, outlandish costume ever, have a photo shoot, and post them here. Only the worst mother in the world would embarrass their baby that much!

Am I the only one who has no idea what a "shurtle" is?
^^

I never read the thread in question w/that topic, but just by the word... I' assumed the word was a lot like a shart.
Ron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron to keep you up to date!

A shurtle in rehab may also be referred to a shurtleater. They are at the in between stage of deciding whether to chomp your fingers off or slurp them off more slowly with a long anteater tongue.

Its quite an exciting stage, (speaking from personal experience) as you can't be sure whether to quickly snatch your hand away; as they go for the treat; in an attempt to save your fingers or whether to have a wash cloth ready to soak up the sticky slobber.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to confess: a shurtle can happen to anyone. I spent so much time teaching Sybil to take treats gently I just expected her perfect sister would be born knowing this. And don't you know, she was the shurtle in the family

Of course, being PERFECT I presumed she couldn't possibly MEAN to do this so I had her eyes checked!

The CERF vet informed me, sorry, no medical excuse, suggest you train your damn dog. Oh, wait, those weren't his exact words now that I think of it. But so surprised was I to have raised a shurtle that I really did think it had to be medical!

She's very good about it now, so there's hope for reformed Shurtles. I think they even have their own support group. I'll have to ask.

I heard Ron was planning on creating a separate forum for Recovering Shurtles, where all the recovering shurtles and their sponsors can talk about their struggles with and triumphs over shurtleness.

Count us in!!!!!!
Well it is OFFICIAL..............

I am the WORST MOTHER .........even Harry thinks so. :(

He is getting very frustrated with me on the agility course and is shutting down. I am sucking the joy out of the thing he loves to do the most.

I am sorry Harry.
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo NEITHER OF YOU ARE BADDDDDDD MOMS!!! i THINK you are both pretty great moms myself!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

:excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

ALI???????????? Where is your loyalty??????

and...I would love to know HOW the HECK we have the same # of votes!!! :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :cow: :cow:
okay..........Auntie Judi.....and all you 2 legged people...and mommaali...and my own blessed mother:::::::::

This is Heart :hearts: :hearts: ..you know the SHURTLE???? The BLING-MAGNET???? ONE of Harrington's girls~~~~

MY own 'blessed' mother has made her fair share of mistakes...I mean aLOt!!! And I know, from talking to Harry, that A. Judi has made some real doosies too!!!

But, just for the record...these two moms cause us (harry and me) to have so much fun~~we do things many other canines only read and dream about!!

How many pupper get to eat MEAT snocones?? Visit kids and get petted? Go on
L O N G car rides? Get to be with our moms in a ring, and MOST of the time, get to do WHATEVER we want while IN the ring...and STILL....STILL...get a hot fresh hamburger as soo as we leave the ring-place!!!! We go swimming in a huge people pool!! We get to herd sheep!!!

AND if all this does NOT convince you.................I know that A. Judi has spent a fortune on Harry, between his agility toys, classes, gas, BLACK rubber bands....inside toys, homemade dog treats,

ANd, of course MY mommaVAL..well, what can I say about the most wonderful, giving, kind, loving, sweet, beautiful, squishy,........I am very lucky to have the best bling, the best matching ribbons, bandanas, sparkle spray, ((I AM holding out for toe polish)))....

Just want you all to know....FOR THE RECORD....Harry and I don't care about the mistakes and oopsies they have occasionally.....we wouldn't want any other humans to take care of us!!!!!!

WE LOVE OUR MOMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt:

Hmmm ok, hearing testimony from Heart, that's pretty good. Let's see some evidence, I'll take a quick gander at your photo album :lmt: :lmt: :lmt: :lmt: Ok, Heart and Harry look like they have wonderful lives! :yay: :cheer:

(though, they're still both so beautiful, I still think I would slip them into a knapsack and run away with them :aww:  )

How the heck have I missed all this :?:
Of course you are both the best Mommies EVER!!!!!!!
(Thanks for a Sunay night laugh)

Finnie wants to vote his Mom best ever
He said and I qoute
"I can get toilet paper, I have gotten twice into a pot of
beans and speaking of poopie butts....I had one late at night..
I plopped right on Mommas face with it  "

That is just a few things he had to say, I won't mention the rest!
