Update on the snarky Yorkie lady post.

UPDATE

We were walking both our boys tonight and sure enough, there was Yorkielady and her hubby walking their dog. I gave my husband "the look."

So, Rudy fussed a little (please note....a little) and the Yorkie and the man continued and the lady again stopped and stared. Before she could open her mouth, my husband walked toward her (with Rudy, who was now calm) and said, "Thanks for walking your dog by. Rudy's in doggie rehab and we're working hard to help him through this. He's a rescue, and he's had a hard time adjusting. He gets a little crazy protecting us. I guess he's still afraid he'll end up out on the streets again, fighting with other strays for food and to stay alive."

Her jaw dropped, and she said, "Oh no problem at all. It looks like he's doing great. He's so lucky to have you guys taking care of him. What a gorgeous dog he is." (Oh yes, how brave she is when she can't hurl snide comments from a distance...)

And she scampered after her husband (again).

I have to give my husband credit. He put her in her place politely, but way more effectively than I would have by biting her myself (and on behalf of others too...LOL). I am still biding my time, however, and waiting for the perfect opportunity to give her a well deserved bite.

And in other news, about a half hour later, Rudy walked with several dogs we "met" (a set up by the behaviourist) at the park today, and did well with all, except an eleven week old female who freaked him out. She was really dominant and at him, and he didn't know what to do about it. She wasn't really part of things, and was taken right back into the house, but still, it was interesting.

Wow, your husband was really tactful.

Can't wait to see what she does when you meet them on tomorrow's walk! 8) :D :clappurple:
You got yourself a good man!
Wow your husband did a fantastic job!!

I would have just bitten her...(head off)
Kudos to Gordon for a job well done!!! And kudos to Rudy for behaving under the circumstances. A win/win all the way around!! :clappurple: :clappurple:
My first instinct is to always (and I mean ALWAYS) be snarky and sarcastic. Unfortunately, that does not get the results I want. However, what Gordon did was exactly what should be done to get the desired results. He also educated the lady who may now stop and think before she says anything (unlike me.... )
Every dog deserves to have owners like you and your husband. :clappurple:

me too
kudos too gordon, took me decades to get that lesson from dad. fiery temper didn't help. :clappurple:
Good for him!! I bet she felt worse about herself with that--than giving her pleasure with a snarky comeback... which is probably what she wanted. People LOVE to create drama for no reason!
I would want to bite her too!
Rudy's Daddy provided a kind and gentlemanly explanation to Yorkie's Snarly Mother, a not so kind and considerate person. Rudy was a grand Sheepie to continue his newly-learned manners and made his Momma so very PROUD! Kuddos to all three of you for being the United States of Rudy! :clappurple: We'll keep rooting for ya'll.
I'm impressed with Gordon's method as well! Great job!!
Good for him. All that lady wanted was a negative reaction so she can be vicious and mean. Makes her feel good. She is like the trolls on the internet forums trying to stir up trouble. Kudos to you! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
