Annie Plus 1 Update

Sorry for taking so long to post an update. Life has been a little crazy at my house. Annie Plus 1 is now Annie and Gracie. I decided Gracie was a cute name for her as it really is by the grace of God that she is alive and doing so well, Grace is my middle name and the name Gracie makes me smile. Baby G for her nickname

The first few days after Gracie was born, Annie was so attentive and protective of her little one. Then when Gracie was about 5 days old, I woke up and Gracie wasn't doing well and I thought she wasn't going to make it. So from that day on, I have stepped in and bottle fed her. I don't think she was getting enough from Annie or how good Annie's milk is. Since then, Gracie has been doing great. Yesterday, she weighted 1 pound (16 oz) and her eyes finally opened on Sunday. She was 3 weeks old this past Monday so I am guessing Gracie is about 7 to 10 days behind most full term puppies. She has really started walking but still unstable and getting stronger everyday. Now that she is bigger, she is always with me and my other dogs. I don't want her to feel left out since she doesn't have any sibblings. Annie has figured out that life is pretty good and has relinquuished most of her parenting responsibilities to me. Yes, Gracie sleeps in her box right beside my bed so I hear every peep she makes. Annie is also with us but sleeping on the big dog bed. Aunt Ellie (2 yr OES) has really taken a liking to Gracie and is always cleaning her and quite protective of her as well. My Maine Coon cat has finally realized the Gracie isn't a large mouse/rat. I don't fully trust him so when I have to leave, he is locked up away from Gracie and Annie. I don't fully trust Annie with my cats either.

Below are some cute pictures of Gracie and I have attahed a link to my Kodak Gallery which has a lot of pictures of Gracie/Annie from when she was born until today. You can really see how much she has grown. Hopefully the link will work.

Wow. All I can say is wow.

You're amazing, and what lucky dogs Annie and Gracie are to have you in their lives.

Again, I say...wow.
How could you possibly study statistics with all that going on?
You are a great momma dog :high5:
Annie and Gracie both look amazing! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

You have done a great job :D :D :D
Has Annie started treatment for heartworm? The fact any pup survived inside her what with her condition and the heartworm is amazing. The heartworm may have made being a Mommy too difficult. Does heartworm get into the pup during pregnancy?

Little Gracie is a fighter!
What beautiful dogs. I was wondering how mom and pup was doing. Glad to hear that everyone is settling in!!
This story and these pictures are just melting my heart. Especially the first picture with Annie and Gracie. Annie looks like such a sweetheart, and with her one baby, who against all odds now has a chance of a safe and happy life, brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks for doing such a wonderful thing.
What a great job!
What a cute little bear!
Put me on the tissue passing chain!
