Sounds like alot of fun Marilyn. Food.......

I have to work tomorrow all day. Sunday my family is coming up from Ohio. Its great they bring all of the food, then take all of the food home. Our lake association has a boat parade every 4th. It's kind of fun. We came in 2nd one year we decorated our boat up like the SS MINOW. Played the Gilligan theme song on the boat radio and dressed up like the cast. This year we will just watch from the dock. Hoping Frankie gets to go for a boat ride ( he must wear his life preserver) Lots and Lots of fireworks are shot off around here at night. People shoot them off from there boats, docks etc. Then Monday I'm off work for the day. I think I'm just going to relax, and Troy will probably work. He has some big computer update he has been working on.

I know the areas well! I travel thru Toledo to get to Monroe where my mentor lives. And we have dog show friends that live in Port Clinton. Small world!
Sure is.
Everyone knows Troys family in the Port Clinton area, it's a rather large family.

Well, I have a BIL who moved to Ohio last year - that's my one big Ohio claim....lol

I have a goofy nurse schedule. I worked 5 out of 6 days, 12 hr shifts - 60 hours. Done 7pm on Wednesday. Now I am off until Monday - go back Monday morning at 7am.

Tonight I brushed Chewie out (overdue), then bathed and dried him. Tomorrow and Sunday we go up to the St Paul area for agility trials. Not really my plan to do this over the 4th, but the location is good (indoor soccer complex with astroturf and AC!), only 1 hr 15 min from home, sponsored by the North Star Herding Club, and Sunday's judge is one I've wanted to enter under since 2 yrs ago when I stewarded in his ring.

On the 4th we have our annual family and friends party - BBQ, potluck, yard games, visiting, pool and then fireworks at dusk. Todd and a couple other guys launch out in the pasture by the lake, and it's a good show. We always have fun visiting and catching up.
Have a Happy 4th everyone! We take the boys on their 'vacation' each year over the 4th. This year we decided on the Smokies--we came up today and are staying in Gatlinburg. Tomorrow we are going to take them to Cades Cove for the day and Sunday we will go down to the arts district for awhile and then go out to check on our lot in Wears Valley--trying to decide whether to build our log cabin or not ????? We love it up here and so do the boys. They had a great time in Gatlinburg tonight--they had ice cream and were much adored by all--lots of hugs and pictures from total strangers--they love it!
Sounds like a nice break CHSheepdogs!!!! You need it!!

We're going to my mom's place. I won tickets to a concert, but I'm still debating whether we should go after the kids go down. I'm leaning more to giving them to a military family down the street from my mom's. I'm just not cut out anymore for crowds, loud noise, ...and crowds. We'll see... I change my mind a lot.
I really dislike the firecrackers on the 4th because they send Bob the Wonder Pony over the edge. So he will be tranqed tonight and tomorrow night. Hopefully today I can get out for a ride before the noise starts. Having friends over tonight for dinner and a movie (chicken cesear salad, garlic bread, brownies and Caddyshack). Monday I'm going to yoga then hopefully shopping!
We spent the day just tooling around the house - washing windows, doing laundry. Then we went in the pool to cool off from this latest heat wave we're having. Tomorrow we will be going with friends to their club for dinner and fireworks. This club always puts on an excellent show - I just love them!

Drez was always terrified of thunder, fireworks, any loud bang. Sammie couldn't care less - which I'm SO thankful for!!

Marilyn, I bet you will love your new pool liner! We replaced ours at the end of last season, after 12 years use. I think we put it off longer then we should have but money was always a deciding factor (isn't it always???) We replaced it right before we closed it up for the winter, so it was SO beautiful when we opened it. I think it actually makes the pool look bigger.
