I was late for work

While I was driving to work a saw a little white terrier in a pink coat come bolting across the busy road a ways up ahead. I was so sure she would get run over but by some miracle she managed to dodge all the traffic. I pulled over to try and catch her.

She had just got past my car when I got out and I noticed her back left leg was all bloodied and she wasnt using it, so I think she must have already been hit down a side street.

I called and whistled but she turned a corner so I ran after her. Little dogs are so fast despite their short legs so I went back to the car as I'd left the keys in the ignition and my bag and purse on the seat. I managed to do an illegal u-turn and follow her but she was so scared she wouldnt come near me even when I scrunched down and just waited for her. She just kept running and running.

I feel so bad for her. I drove after her four times and tried to coax her to me before she doubled back round a corner and I couldnt find her anymore. It was so cold last night too. I hope someone found her and got her to a vet. She was someone's pet as she had a collar and a cute little pink coat.

I was really late for work in the end but I didnt care, I wish I could have got her safe though.

That was really nice of you to stop Mim.

Hopefully someone was able to capture her and get her the help she needed.
That poor dog! I hope her family finds her before it's too late. They had to be outside w/ her or getting ready to go out if she had her coat on.

That's what I kept thinking, I drove around looking for distressed people for a while too but couldnt see anyone.
Mim I bet your been feeling sickly sad all day, you tried your hardest to catch the injured fairy, hopefully she takes off home or someone else finds her when the fear adrelinin has subsided & she slows down.

Breaks your heart but not much you can do even though you tried your hardest to catch the dog. Hugs, things like that are so upsetting but you did try so hard, keeping fingers crossed someone caught her later in the day or she returned home.
:ghug: :ghug: to you Mim for your efforts! Hopefully her family has found her!
It is so hard to catch strays, especially if they are hurt. Fear, pain, panic.......they just don't respond. Thank you for trying.
:ghug: :ghug: :ghug: what a good soul you have...I hope someone as kind as you found her. and found her family.
Bless you for trying to help the poor thing. Fingers crossed that she is back with her family.
