Hot dog?!?!

Today was the first nice day we've had all year, so naturally I took Hank to the dog park to enjoy it. The high was 74 and it was slightly overcast. He wrestled most of the time, with just a few bouts of running but seemed to get tired after only 25 mins.

After about 20 min at home he was still REALLY panting heavily- and now its been almost an hour and he still is breathing hard- not panting though and does not feel hot to the touch.

Is this just normal, hot sheepie behavior? It just doesn't seem that hot to me, not hot enough to cause this. (The average temp so far this June is about 60)

Should I be worried? Is my puppy out of shape? Should I cool him?

Is it humid?
When they aren't used to it, a bit of heat when combined with humidity can really affect them. If he isn't recovering I would take a temp. Or take him in to the vet if it still seems unusual.
Last time my boys seemed really HOT, I took them down to the basement and made them lay on the cement floor. The coolness of the basement and the floor really seemed to work well.
