I recently moved from a house in Salt Lake with a big fenced off yard to a townhouse that doesn't have a yard and I am having a difficult time making it work with my big dog. I am trying to find a new home for him, preferably one with a big backyard with a family that can give him lots of attention and exercise. He is a lot of fun and I can guarantee he will add lots of joy to your life. He is 3 years old and is fixed. Call 801-910-5608 or email trewool@hotmail.com and I can give you more information.

What a GREAT photo! I hope he gets a new home quickly!
I left a voice mail for them. I'm afraid we will see him again if he isn't placed by someone that knows what they are doing. Happens here a lot.
that storm drain scares me!! 8O
Spoke with the owner. An all too usual story recently. Lost home and living in a townhome, moving to an even smaller townhome. The dog, Runi, is very unhappy without room and a yard. He is neutered, healthy, and well groomed. It's heartbreaking to talk with people that don't want to part with their pet. He agreed rescue would be the best way to place his boy. We will know this weekend if Runi will come into rescue.

He's 3.5 years old, good with other dogs, raised with a 3 year old child, hasn't met a cat yet. Goofy and young.
someone posted recently in the puppy section that they were looking for an adult oes. I think that they mentioned that they were NJ. Wonder it a flight to the east coast might be in order. they said that they had a sheepie which passed a year ago. Not sure how to get the infor on to her. She was contacting NEOESR.
Thanks, Devra :)
It's bitter sweet... if the boy has the security of rescue, he do fine.
It's just so sad that someone who loves their dog is giving him up for the dog's happiness.
A self-less act of kindness.

At first I thought the dog was in the water... I think he's lying down on the bank??
Fast moving water and dams, grids, whatever are scary!
I was the one who posted in the puppy section about looking for an adult OES. Please let me know if Runi is coming into rescue. I'd love to contact the rescue to see if they would be willing to ship him if we are a match. I also emailed the owner indicating that we are willing to ship Runi. We have been looking forever (or at least it feels like forever) for a sheepie that has a proven history with kids. It's like a dream come true to find one raised with a 3 year old. We are working with the rescues in NJ and NEOSR, but no luck yet. I'm hoping that this could be the one-it was one year ago today that we lost Alfie. Again, please let me know if you have any news on rescue, and if you know the rescue person I could contact.
^^^ I hope this is a match that works out!
Fingers crossed that this match works out... :crossed:

I know that when we were looking for Rudy we found him in a month, but it felt like a million years...it's so hard not knowing.
njmooncusser, pm me. I do know someone who will work with long distance rescues. If this doesn't work out, she might be worth contacting...
Rumi is in rescue. More information and photos to follow. He's another boy from our local BYB in Payson. If you all recall I have had two of her boys in the past, Kramer and Harker. He's a good boy. 8)

Thank you, Devra!
Rumi came into rescue on Sunday. He's around 3 years old and a big boy.

Goofy, loveable boy with reasonably decent house manners. He will need a strong hand and better training since he is a big boy. He loves men as he was raised in a male household but women are OK with him after a cookie or two. He's on a diet and running with our pack at the park as he could stand to drop 10-12 pounds. I had the opportunity to see him with the 3 year old boy he grew up with. He was very good with the boy BUT, Rumi is still a really big boy and can knock over a little one with ease when he gets excited. He does not have papers as the local BYB gives the same story we have all heard, the papers are in the mail but never received.

He's definately related to Kramer, a foster we had last year. Kramer is in a wonderful home in Idaho and has his GCC and Therapy certification. :clappurple:

Yeah, a little chunky through the middle and that back left leg..........

How he will miss his little bitty buddy, hopefully the new home will give him love and all the attention and young dog requires.
Welcome Rumi you handsome Sheepie!!!
Oh, did I mention he needs to be taught boundries?????
And he is a cronic counter, table, desk, dresser, oh heck, any flat surface scrounger/surfer. Just retrieved a roll of dimes he stole from the office.

BTW, how do you break that irritating habit of nibble biting?

This boy is too bright, he's going to be my challenge.
Rumi ended up being quite a story. A man from Denver drove to Salt Lake, fell in love, and picked him up from Devra. This lasted about a week, the neighbors in the condo complained about the barking, so he was returned to us in Colorado Springs. Full of beans. We placed him in foster, it was difficult for them ("he can clear a couch from a standing start!") so we kenneled him while we worked on a home. Out of the woodwork came a wonderful lady from central Colorado. Acreage, active, experienced! She works with Newfie Rescue, and has a Great Pyr of her own - good experience with big, strong (and strong willed) dogs.
A Great Earth Mother sort. Called her frequently, got glowing reports on Rumi. Called her one time, did not get a response for about a week. Turns out the big forest fire ws about 6 miles from their place - they had been busy helping neighbors and no time to answer me. Very understandable. She reports he is calming, and turning into a great dog. Says he pulls on the leash for only about the first mile or so, and then settles right down. They must be hellish walkers! They have a creek on the place for swimming, and keep him busy most of the time. A tired dog is a happy dog, and he is both.
Joe - Old English Sheepdog Rescue of Colorado
Glad he found a good home! Thanks for the update Joe!
Lucky dog! I kind of wish I could get rescued and taken to live in the country.
