Rudy's officially making progress

Our behaviourist had a death in the family, so we took a few weeks off from the sessions. We have been working hard with Rudy all along.

We went back last night and he did great. He fussed minimally when she brought out her dog, and we walked in peace. It was great. He got a little stressed when Hudson paid attention to her dog, but was easily corrected. Next she brought over her neighbour's dog (trying him out with a strange dog - and this is one she works with and just rehomed to her neighbour). Rudy had a low intensity flip out, was corrected quiet easily, fussed a few more times, and after five minutes or so we all walked together just fine.

By the end Rudy was walking sandwiched between her dog and Queen (the rehomed dog, who she's working with for behaviours as well). They all did ok. Hudson (the clown) just lumbered along through all of this, making friends with everyone he saw, completely oblivious to the fact that the three other dogs he was walking with ALL have a history of red zone aggression, and are at different stages of recovery (hers is completely balanced now, but three years ago attacked people, dogs, animals, and anything that moved-she'd lived in a breeding cage for three years and had been horribly abused on top of that-I think she's an amazing dog).

We still have more sessions, and Rudy will be spending some time hanging in her house with her pack, but he's made real, obvious progress. One day she figures he'll even learn to play with other dogs.

I had to share. I'm so proud of Rudy.

Yeaaay Rudy!! I think some dogs are harder work than others, and those who put the effort in really see results no matter how 'bad' the situation. In moments of frustration I think of you, and others on the forum who have committed to working with their dogs, and it really encourages me to work harder :)
Well done Rudy :clappurple:
