Some people should know better

Out walking Archie tonight, he stops behind me to say hello to a women approaching from the rear.

She makes a big fuss of him, I am trying to keep him sane (how can I it's an upright they all love him!)

Me " Archie behave, no jumping" - like that will work

The woman
"oh he's fluffy, oh he's friendly (Archie in a big mad bouncing fit - par for the course when made a fuss of!), oh it's alright I work with dogs"

Me " you really ought to know better then!"

The woman " you're right, I'm a behaviourist  "

I re - asserted my control by going for the biscuit pocket!

I guess some people can't resist the heart melting power of a Sheepie

:headbang: :headbang: As Cesar Milan says, "I rehabilitate dogs and TRAIN people." That behaviorist should have know better.

Still, who doesn't love meeting a big fluffy??
Archie's gorgeous, can't blame her!
You're right, but he's just too irresistable! :D

I had a similiar thing happen when I took Tiggy to the Uni Vet Hospital last year. One vet and 8 students all in a treatment room with Tiggy. Every single one of them let/encouraged Tiggy to jump on them.

Only the vet nurse when she came in told her to get down and ignored her till she was in a sit.
Haha!! All the rules go out the window with sheepies. One of the trainers at our class did the same thing with Rufus. Not our trainer though- he's a tough cookie 8)
See, sheepies are magical.
Oh, well, I spent the weekend at an agility trial. *I* was there to run agility. Sybil was there to work the crowd  Thankfully she's now realized she's not to do that IN the ring. But outside the ring...I'd lay there on the floor with her, watch her zero in on a victim, eh, I mean fellow competitor - long time experienced dog trainers every darn one of them. Never once did she fail to suck the person into her sphere

She spent the last 15 minutes leading up to her standard run yesterday upside down with her head in this 5 year old's lap. I don't blame the five year. The adults...

I give up. 8) It must be a sheepdog thing.

Sybil, Tiggy is disappointed! You're supposed to jump all over the head trainer/judge when you're at agility.
Better to jump than grab the sleeve of a sweatshirt and decide to play tug 8O And this is after I tell the woman I am trying to train for a therapy dog...She said, I think you need a bit more work  At least he let go when I said out and didn't rip the sleeve

Dear Tiggy,

You can only milk this oppportunity for so long, then you have to change your MO or kill-joy handler won't enter you in trials. At trials you will have hundreds of terribly susceptible to OES charm people to flirt with outside of the ring, so it's worth it to keep it to a minimum the little time you're actually IN the ring...

You have a honeymoon period the first few trials where you can sort of get away with a bit of ring-schmoozing, but after that you have to limit yourself and do most of your socialization outside of the ring. It pays off in the long run.

Just thought you should know so you can plan accordingly...

Love,
Sybil
Thanks for the tip Sybil, its great having a mentor.
I will stop loving on the trainer etc when my upright/agility servant starts looking too p'd off and change my focus.
Love Tiggy.
