Ours does the same thing... It seems like she just wants to be as close to us as possible |
Mine do that too. I think it can be a few things. The dog is feeling uncomfortable and is leaning into you for support/protection. Or, because your dog loves you and is 'hugging' you. When Wendel and I first started going to class, he would sit on my feet because he feels a bit nervous, he didn't know why he was there and what all the other dogs were doing there. |
dreamer leans on me any everyone |
Summer leans on our legs, quite nice when the weather is cold ![]() ![]() |
Tiggy leans on my legs especially if she's tired or stressed in class. I think she just likes to be sure I'm close. |
Comfort and security. Babette does this to me and we are working on not letting her, I have to step back so she cant, she is going into the showring soon and when I stack her she leans on me. Was told at classes not to let her do that as she is looking for a bit of comfort and security in an unknown enviroment. Some do it if unsure of what's going on or a new situation and allowing them too, also reinforces that its OK to be unsure. ![]() So at home OK out and about step back so they learn to stand on there own 4 paws ![]() |
