What happens when your handler loses it-agility gerl

Hi, me again, Agility Gerl. :D

I'm going to tell you what happens when your upright loses the plot. I know all about it 'cause it happened last night and I heard my Mom telling my Dad about it so I know what happened from her perspective too. :D

My Mom has a new job so she's not home as much. :( My Dad was s'posed to walk me on Thurs but he didnt and my Mom ran out of time yesterday morning, so I was feeling particularly beanful at agility last night. I jumped all over the instructor, you have to suck up to the people with influence you know. I heard my Mom tell my Dad it was the chief instructor, of all people, so I'm really glad I jumped on him as he's got lots of influence. 8) My distant cousin Sybil taught me all about that, she says when I get to compete there are people sitting around the course near the jumps especially, and they always look lonely and bored so she sometimes stops and jumps on them to say "hello".

But then I settled right down. This lulled my Mom into a false sense of security, I heard her say that and I am going to remember it for future reference too. The first exercise we did was the tunnel. This is usually my favoritist of things and sometimes I even turn around at the end and go back through the other way. So my Mom let me off lead a ways away from the tunnel. When she called "go" I ran at the tunnel but at the last minute I saw the sheltie who I've never met before. I dunno but she just looked like she might wanna have some fun so I did a quick change of direction right at the mouth of the tunnel and ran at the sheltie. She just looked at the stuffie her Mom had and ignored me. :(

So I figured well there's 6 other dogs here, so I'll run at all of them surely one will run so I can chase it. :D :D
They were all soooo boring they just looked at their uprights and got treats and pretty much ignored me. I didnt bark at them, my Mom told my Dad she was really grateful for that, but maybe I should have 'cause other times someone always runs so I can chase them and bark.

Well I decided seeing as how they were all being boring, I would show them how to have fun!!! :clappurple: I ran around and around everyone, kind of like I was pretending they were a flock of sheep and I was keeping them all together. :D I was having such fun, you could tell 'cause I had a big grin on my face. My Mom said that it was such a big grin that it reminded her not to get too cross with me. (Note to self: practice big grins for when I'm in trouble again) The trainer kept telling my Mom to tell me to sit. She didnt bother much, she knows me too well. Eventually I got tired so I stopped when the trainer told me to and my Mom came and put the lead on me.

This is the funny part now. I didnt know it was so funny till after when I heard my Mom talking to my Dad. My Mom is really cross with herself. She says she did EVERYTHING wrong. She forgot that she had my favorite squeaky in her pocket and didnt squeak it even once and she forgot that she has taught me "lets go" which means she runs away and I chase after her really fast till I catch up with her. She was wondering why all these things went out the window. I didnt see a window so I dont think they could've gone out a window but whatever. :?:

She says she was tired and because I was good all the other times at agility she was suckered. She also said that the chief instructor has told her sheepies are a bit too flighty for agility. :cow: So she was feeling a bit more nervous once I started running around. She said she is a bad Mom for not walking me first. Well I have to say I agree with that, there should be lots of walks, the more the better.

After that I was pretty good except I hate that ladder thingy, I trip over it with my back legs.

PS Heart I hope you've been careful around any lakes, our back legs can get us into a lot of bother.

Wow Tiggy, it sounds like you had a lot of fun at class.

My Mom is having some back and leg problems right now so I don't get to do nuthin! I am so bored, bored, bored.

Before she had these problems...oh what fun I had. At class I was sooooo good. I did everything darn near perfect, if I do say so myself. I too lead her to believe that we could go farther. So she took me to run-thrus(whatever that means). It was this big building with lots of room to run and run and run. I ran around like crazy and kept hearing this annoying buzzing in my ear, almost like Mom was calling me but I was having sooooooo much fun I just ignored it. After I was done Mom put me back on the leash and I had to go back into the crate....borrrrring.

We went to more runthru's...oh I get it, this is where I get to run around and get all that pent up energy out.

I sure hope my Mom gets better soon so we can go to more of these runthru's so I get to run, and run, and run.

Simon, the running dog
Tiggy - I'm not letting Chewie read this one.....

It never has occurred to him to run off, so I want to keep him in the dark that this is an option.
