I've seen some of them. My son watches all the time. In fact he's even dvr'd it when he can't be home at that time to watch it.
Thats what we do. We are watching last nights now.

My husband loves it he watches it every week--I haven't started it yet--but I do have all 8 episodes on my Tivo--do you like it?
I do like it. It's a little to real sometimes. It really makes you think what those men were going through. Sunday's was heart breaking. The minute you get attached to someone they are killed.

I watch it. I just installed my new 7.1 channel surround sound receiver and I swear the artillery shells are coming in right over my head! We have to duck at least 4 times per show. It really gives me a new perspective when we shop at our local market and we see some bent over slow walking old man who happens to be wearing his WW II hat and makes us realize these old bent over guys are true HEROES! Even as a child I never thought of my 2 white haired Uncles as anything more than Uncle George and Uncle Frances until I learned that they were both at the Battle of the Bulge and fought in the European theater.

  that made me laugh!

I totally agree about past war vets... My dad was in WWII and I love bragging about it. Same w/ my uncles and brother & vietnam.
I think sometimes younger generations these days don't give much thought to these people, that they were once strong young men and went thru some gut wrenching times. (not just our vets-- but anyone elderly. OH the things they've seen....) One time my dad & I were getting gas and he has always had a WWII vet plate on his car & sticker in the window. This young man came over and stuck his hand out at my dad, Daddy looked at him like -What do you want? and he said to Dad "I saw your veteran plates and I just want to shake your hand."

I swear Daddy walked tall that whole day. :D
Bekki, that brought a tear to my eye.

My dad served in Korea. He's a very proud veteran also. For christmas one year we surprised him with a Korean war plate for his car. He was so happy and proud.

I can remember for years being awaken by his loud yelling in his sleep. He was having nightmares of the war. After all that time. It used to scare me terribly.

Don't know if any of you know this but some of the "characters" such as John Basilone, Eugene Sledge and Robert Lackie are based on the actual lives of those men. Some of the other characters are just in for the dramatic effect but the 3 main characters are based on real people. Basilone did indeed win the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross and was killed in action on the first day of his return to the Pacific. It is indeed quite a story.
DH hasn't missed an episode! For some reason I haven't fallen for this like I did Band of Brothers.
We're watching it but I liked Band of Brothers better out of the HBO WWII series. There's something less interesting about these characters to me.
