| Many shelters don't have the capacity to raise a newborn litter which is a tremendous amount of work, possibly tieing up more resources than they can commit to, and for another bunch of large/medium sized heinz 57s which are typically harder to place. Looking at the picture...<shudder> Not the kind of environment, no disrespect intended for the shelter, that I would like to see a litter. It's the look in the mom's eye that gets me though. If the pups were old enough to be weaned they could probably ship them up north and place them. Both Chicagoland and the Milwaukee area, for instance, are importing like crazy to mitigate our dog "shortages". Though Heinz 57s we've got as well. Bad luck of the draw. Haunting though. Hope someone can pull her at least. Kristine |
