Farley needs foster or forever home in IL

One Tail at a Time (www.onetail.org) has agreed to rescue our third sheepdog (woohoo!) in the next 2 weeks. His name is Farley and he is 3 years old, currently sitting in a Southern Illinois shelter. He came in as a stray in January but he was neutered so he was likely someone's pet. He wants affection so badly he literally reaches his paw out of his cage as people walk by. He was next on the list to be euthanized, but we committed to him so he is safe. He is friendly with other dogs, but he has resource guarding issues so he needs to go to a very experienced/OES savvy home or a home with no dogs. He won't be placed with kids either. He will be vaccinated and neutered, but he is in desperate need of a grooming so we will have to work that out.

Let me know if you're interested in helping this guy out. We can transport within 100 miles (any way) of the city. If you are further and are interested in adopting we can working something out by having a different rescue do a homecheck.

Send me a pm or email me HeatherOTAT@gmail.com if you're interested/

Is he a resource guarder with people too or just other dogs?
I would also second Donner's Mom's question, and also ask whether it is known if Farley is at all housebroken?
I saw his info today online. Thanks for watching over him :hearts:

He hasn't been in a home yet, so not sure about both questions. They believe the resource guarding is just with other dogs.

He's a cutie, can't wait to get him in a home!
He is very cute...good work Heather!! :clappurple:
My wife and I are relocating to Oak Park in August (with a few trips up in between) and would be interested in meeting and looking into adopting Farley. I don't think we can keep a dog in our home in Nebraska (I mean, our parents houses are a possibility, but I'd really prefer to be with the dog all the time), so we unfortunately cannot take him right away. If he does end up in a foster home, maybe this would be a possibility? We are a young couple with no other pets or children. I just wanted to put something out there and I will send you a private message.

However it works out, thanks for your post and your good works! :clappurple:
I'm hoping we'll have a forever home for him before August, but please do send me a message when you move to the area. I can point you in the right direction if you're looking for a rescue and help you out with anything dog related in the city!
PM'd you Heather
