Bee Sting

We had a little scare today.

Back in October Frankie ate a wasp. His whole little head was swollen and we ended up at the emergency vet. Shots steroids and benadryl, then he was fine.
Well someone didn't learn his lesson, he ate another wasp today. I started to panic right away. Gave him a benadryl. Now that he is older I wasn't sure how much to give him, so I called the emergency vet. They told me to give him 75 mgs of benadryl then another 75 before bedtime. Make sure his swelling doesn't get worse and the his breathing is ok. We haven't had a problem. Just a little lip swelling where the sting was.

Thank goodness.

What to do with that boy.

Frankie, Frankie, Frankie, what to do with a boy who doesnt give in.

My siamese cat did the same thing. I'd only had him 1 week and he climbed the lace curtains and caught a bee. It stung him fair in the whiskers. First I could figure out what had happened he was running around the house going crazy. Then I found the dying bee and the sting in his face. 8O

Emergency trip to the vet, cortisone shot etc. He slept for the whole day with the antihistamines.

My Mom said "oh well he'll have learnt to steer clear of buzzing things". Nope caught him chasing a blow fly a few days later.
Wow!

Amazing that they don't learn a lesson from trauma like that. Sheeeeeesh.

I'm glad he's ok.
Frankie, you better slow down, your mom will have a stroke!
my dolly girl that was her favorite treat she would eat bee's all the time and i gave up trying to stop her she had no bad reaction from them :?: she was one funny girl
Poor Frankie!!!!!   They must taste VERY good!!!!!
Ouch! So far, I'm the only one in our house who ever gets stung. Bees, wasps, hornets......you name it, they love me. Mosquitoes also love me. How did I get to be so lucky?

Frankie likes spicey foods.

Paige was stung just once and from then on avoided bees, gave them a wide berth.
Oh Frankie! He likes to keep you on your toes! Glad he is fine
I always keep benadryl on hand after Laika was bit by something and swelled up. And low and behold this weekend saturday the area around her eye was swollen. I was looking at her and thinking she looks weird all dopey her eye pupil didn't seem to be sitting right. yep swollen and then the next day the other eye. jeesh. but I give her benadryl for it.
