WATER + SHEEPIE = CRAZY SHEEPIE

Frankies a month into his water therapy, and everytime after his workout when I bring him home he runs around the house like a crazy dog. Last night we got him out of the water tank dried him off, then he took off running through the facility. When we finally got him we still had to stretch him out. Boy was he talking, the PT said he sounded like chewbacca. She also joked and called him a gremlin (just add water). At least she had a good sence of humor about it. So then we get home he eats dinner and takes off running laps in the house. I was so worried he'd get bloat.
Any ideas on why this happens after his therapy?

cause it feels him better, so rejuvenating. :D
Since he's in good humor doing this, not snapping, I'd say he rather enjoys the water. Too bad spa trips are so expensive, he'd like to go every week! You need an indoor heated pool for your pup!
They are not as pricey as I thought they would be, but they will add up eventually. I pay 40.00 a visit. He has been going once a week. But ahhh yes an indoor pool, maybe not so much for Frankie but for his mommy maybe
$40 isn't that bad, providing it's in the budget. Look how happey.......he appears to be. I'd sacrifice a few things just to put a smile on a sheepdog face.

Alas, an indoor pool......one of those swim spas......and the enclosure for it, far more than $40 a month......sigh.
I've had more than one sheepie who does this. There is something about the time immediately following a bath. There's crazy running and leaping all over. I have no idea why.

I'd just enjoy the show. If you are worried about bloat, maybe push back feeding time on those days. Anticipate the burst of energy, and don't feed until after he's completely done. A late meal won't hurt him.
