Sheepiepalooza??

Okay, I have been MIA for a VERY long time but was just checking in to see what was new and I do not see any talk of the St. Louis Sheepiepalooza. What's up? Is there not going to be one this year? What did I miss??

Tasha-

I am sorry to say we are not having Sheepiepalooza this year. At our follow up meeting last year we could not find anyone locally to step up and chair the event. We even attempted to find a chair for each day but we still could not get anyone to act as the main coordinator. So many people on this forum generously volunteered to help from a distance, but we would still need a local person as the main contact.

After much discussion, the club decided to make it a bi-annual event and hold just a pot luck picnic on the Sunday of Memorial Day in the off years. Our intention is to use that picnic as a kickoff planning meeting for the next year's Sheepiepalooza. I guess we will determine the feasibility of the event at that time.

We would love you to join us for the picnic and anyone is certainly welcome.

To be honest I am really sad as there are friends that I made at this event each year and really looked forward to seeing them again. Last night Harry and I ate out at the Mexican restaurant we always went to on the Saturday night following the dog park and it brought back a lot of memories as it was always my favorite part of the weekend - having a relaxing dining experience with all the sheepdogs and their owners.

A toast to all of my Sheepiepalooza friends - heres hoping we can do it again sometime.

Bogey and Gigi want to go! Will be there next year! If i can help, please let me know.
Here's hoping you guys can do it bi-annually.
I had a great time at the '09 event. Met a lot of great people & sheepies.
My co-workers asked if I needed Memorial weekend off again this year for Sheepiepalooza. They even knew the name. I guess I talked about it a "little"

Soooo sad
Maybe every other year would be more reasonable, especially for people who travel a long distance. Unfortunately somehow I managed to get myself involved in driving all the way to Illinois that weekend anyway :lmt:
Oh, how sad! I know it had to be a TON of work so I completely understanding making it a bi-annual event. Judi and Val (and others)...your hard work was very much appreciated! Enjoy the break and I hope to see you next year!! :)
