What is that smell.....ewww the dog did it!

Well we are noticing that Oliver has a lot of gas lately and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. He has been on Eukanuba Large puppy food , he is now 1 week shy of 4 months and he is 33 lbs. He has thrown up occasionally, but just figure he has gotten in to something that maybe he shouldn't outside since spring is coming.  Also he has finally started puppy classes and we have to drive about a 30 to 40 min drive to get there. It was very unpleasent because he has developed car sickness. He didn't have it before and then about 3 weeks ago it started. The slobbering and then he got sick in the car. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I don't want to knock him out since we are going to puppy class. BTW he was exhausted when we came home last time the only thing is he was so dehydrated that he got up twice in the night that night to drink 2 bowls of water. I am sure this was due to the slobber and sickness....

I might be wanting to visit the vet to rule out some sort of intestinal parasite.
Asterisk got car sick a lot as a puppy. We started not giving her food at least 3 hours prior to a car ride, that way food could properly digest without her getting sick.

I would bring your puppy to the vet to check out any concerns you may have. Wendel is very gassy. He can clear a room and he's now four. I think his GI is just more sensitive than Asterisk. The worst is when he will belch and fart at the same time, talk about explosion!
My friend's Abby (the lab/poodle who carts and sleds w/ us) gets car sick too. Lynne found out she did better with a little food in her stomach before a trip. When she puked, it was a bile liquid, so her tummy was too empty.

Not the norm, but just a thought to consider.

Our 1st OES had some random car sickness, but his came on later in life, and was only for longer trips - over an hour.
Once you rule out parasites, blockages, etc and tummy is better......car sickness is often helped with a couple of ginger snap cookies before the trip. Ginger helps with moition sickness and I find the cookies go down better than dry/sugared ginger.....no way they will sip ginger tea.
We also had issues with Ripley, when we started puppy classes. Also had a 30minute drive and she was also 3months. She didn't vomit she has diarrhea :(
Wonder if part is the excitement or nervousness of starting classes on both your part. We stopped feeding Ripley her evening meal,on class day till after we got home. It also made her much more attentive in class,it didn't matter what kind of treat I had she was more than willing to work for it :clappurple:
I think the diarrhea lasted for two weeks, she had to go out half way through class the next week, then all settled down after that. She's been in training the last year,no other issues. She loves going anywhere in the car now she is such a social butterfly
Next car trip, try crating with a sheet or something over the top so she can't see.
