Just a few more weeks...

Our current apartment is an open loft style and short of kenneling Rudie or leaving him a small area near the door where he will undoubtedly bark at everyone, we have to give Rudie the run of the kitchen/living room. Every. Single. Day. we come home to something bad he has done. Here is a short list of what he has done in the past two weeks;

-Open the cabinet under the sink and pull the garbage out. Go to town.
-Open the bathroom door, where we hid the garbage, and go to town.
-Open the balcony door (which was open just a few inches for a breeze) and wedge his large head underneath the grill where the grease pan is, and go to town.
-Jump on the counter and chew up a container of his vitamins and probiotics
-Leave us a nice present in the den (not his fault, had a belly ache from all that garbage)
-pull the recycling bin off the table, unsatisfied with it's contents he proceeded to shred all the paper inside.
-Knock over the steam cleaner and lick up the dirty soapy water from the spot he left in the den.
-Jump on the counter and pull out two pots and pans and lick them clean (today's fun).

I'm not joking when I say this is the past 2 weeks. We are at the point where everything goes on top of the fridge or on the balcony with the door shut and locked. We shut the door to the den, bathroom and bedroom and pray he doesn't figure out how to get in.

In a few weeks we are moving to a place that has a separate kitchen and I will be purchasing an extra tall gate. God help us!

talk about being happy to move. :clappurple:
otherwise it all sounds normal to me, sheepie- proofing is a tough job. :cow:
:clappurple: :clappurple: Good going Rudie!! You are enjoying puppyhood! Sorry you can't be on a large farm, being confined is tough, sounds like you are doing your best. If you need more pots to clean, come on over! You can do the dishes and cabinets as well.
Oh my!!!

Our first guy was a committed counter surfer, everything had to be out of reach, but nothing to that extent!

GOOD LUCK

Yikes! That's a lot of activity going on! Maybe you could put those baby proofing things on the cabinets and they also have things to cover door handles so you can only open them if you have opposable thumbs.
We're scared to lock anything that he knows food/garbage was in because he will scratch at it and since we're renting we don't want to ruin anything.

Dave has come to the conclusion that Rudie is suicidal. We dropped them off at his parents last night and went to dinner with them... when we came back the entire house smelled like gas. He had turned the gas on the stove on accidentally while looking for grub! He's so naughty!!
you did read my post my boys now have everyting on top of the fridge.. i feel your pain

When Simon was younger we had to take all the knobs off the stove when not in use...after Simon went counter/stove surfing and turned the gas on.
I use to have all these great Lola being naughty stories. Maggie is an angel. Really. I have never met such a good dog. She was at dog camp with Lily this weekend and the owner made a point of telling me how perfect she is. Don't get me wrong, they LOVED Lola, but NOONE could call her perfect. She was WORK.
PS: Even the GROOMER (she had her first real groom) told me how fabulous she is... 8O
