Pet soup kitchen

There was article in our throwaway paper about a local couple starting a soup kitchen for cats and dogs. Gabe's Gang was launched in January and in the first two months have provided 2000 meals in the tri-county area :clappurple: . The food is given to homeless pet owners and those who are jobless. The economy in MI is horrendous with no end in sight and the founders feel that this will keep pets where they belong; with their families.

Wow what a great idea!!
Love it. :clappurple: :clappurple:
Wonderful idea!
That is very cool!!
That is a terrific idea! When we tfirst brought dog treats & foods to our local food pantry, the volunteers weren't quite sure what to do with the goods, but they made shelf space for it.
Now one of our police officers has dedicated herself to collecting pet food, treats and kitty litter. Hopefully, her efforts will help people keep their beloved pets at home instead of having to turn them into the shelter.Thank you for sharing.

What a wonderful Idea!! I know that around here the SPCA and the vet offices are always looking for old towels, blankets, kitty litter and food/treats. I love hearing things like this when people get involved!! :clappurple: :clappurple:
Val, maybe they could also try a bake sale but with dog and cat treats, outside Petsmart or something similar. I know the Scouts around here do a bottle return pickup twice a year. I just put my empties out on the specified date and they return them, it helps fund some of their projects.
